      Last league game at Anfield?
      Mar 06, 2007 02:41:13 pm
Who would you rather Liverpool play their last ever game at Anfield against?

I would have to say Everton, and we ram home a cricket score against the bitter blue noses.  >:D

Might sound a bit strange, but I'd like to play Rotheram.

They were the first team we played at Anfield, 1st September 1892. I just think it would be nice to see everything come full circle.

      *EDIT*

Apologies, I've just seen that the poll says last LEAGUE game, so in that case it would have to be a title decider against Manure, what a way to go. Would still like the last game ever at Anfield to be against Rotheram.

That's a good point actually Eddie.

I'd quite like a little friendly with a lot of Liverpool players (from the past) involved or something along those lines, too.
But talking Premiership, I'd love it to be Everton and for us to give them a true annihilation!!! ;D

Personally I don't care! Why? well the last game in front of the Kop, was against Norwich and the score....0-1 to Norwich, so as long as we win I don't really mind, Should the question be What would you like to be the last competitive match at Anfield and the last non competitive match, as I guess we will have an "exhibition" match too?

I say Everton if they are still in the Premiership,if they are not we can always reinvent the Lancashire Senior Cup.What a nostalgic day that would be and it would also be a very sad day-so many memories.

Everton for the last league game, but like Eddie C, i want a friendly with Rotherham as the last ever game. First game at the new stadium, hey why not Rotherham again!

It won't happen as we have no control over league fixture opponents when the calendar is drawn-up.

So it will have to be a staged game - I think a testimonial for Stevie G - with all the greats from over the years turning up - would be fantastic - with Gerry and the Pacemakers, The Beatles and a few other famous scousers getting in on the act.

I hope Parry is going to do the farewell proud... if he is still around by then!
