      Aston Villa V's Liverpool 18/3/07
      Mar 13, 2007 05:46:31 pm
A bit of a rest for the lads last weekend, and Villa to face Arsenal on Wednesday night. This could give our lads a great bit of advantage.
I'm going for a 3 -1 win to the Reds.

I forsee a 2 goal lead at half time, Gerrard and Alonso.
Villa to make a bit of a fightback with Carew scoring just after half time.
Kuyt scoring midway through the second half to finish the match off.

We seem to always get a good result at Villa Park, so lets hope this continue's.

if the scoring was to go that way, I would think we'd go 3-0 up then for them to pull 1 back to put us slightly on edge, that is what usually happens. We aren't like chavski and grind out results. As for scorers, Kuyt, Bellamy, Riise. Riise with the first, quite early on 15mins says. Then Kuyt to score on the edge of half time. It quietens down and Bellamy scores in the 60 mins. Then Villa pull one back on the 69th minute!

      That's my prediction ;)

      2-0 I think.

Also, I expect to see Sami back in the team again, we need him to deal with the aerial threat of Carew.

Oh yeah.  The Premiership. Nearly forgot about that ;)

After our United hiccup we vitally need a win because the Arse are chasing 3rd spot.  We need to ensure we finish strongly.  Does 4th place have to play 2 Champions League qualifying round whereas 3rd place just plays one??

Hey, good point there Eddie. Villa's a bigger threat now with Carew in the squad so Sami will be a good protection against the long balls that Villa keeps feeding Carew.

3-0. This to be the match that Liverpool breaks their defeat streak. And I'm still fancying a Carra goal. :D :D

No, they both only have one qualifying round. The only real difference between 3rd & 4th is prize money & club status.

2 defeats in a row since Manchester United. Or more like, 2 undeserved defeats.

I think it depends on the ref. Let's all admit that Gareth Barry has had more than his fair share of penalty goals... let's just hope he doesn't get one against us that day.

But I'm pretty confident we could slide 2 past them, we did get that many against Barca at the Nou Camp. [I have a feeling that it'll never tire boasting that we beat Barca again!]

Hi again Giddy...I have decided you have some secret life as a spy the way you disappear for weeks if not months. Unless your in the forces? ;)

Early kick off for the 'Thriller at the Villa'.  Now that I've said that. It's going to be 0-0.

Avictory no doubt. Especially after we drop to the the fourth spot in the league, we do need to keep winning to have a chance to finish good third.

      3-1 Liverpool..
