He's relentless, but his timing when it comes to teams is awful.

      Indeed.

Understatement. I think when he went back to Renault was when Red Bull really turned the corner and started to dominate wasn't it? I vaguely remember him being linked with them but then it not happening.

He turned the offer from Red Bull down.
Vettel stepped up from Toro Rosso instead.

If there was ever a massive regret he wishes he could change, I bet that's it.

Just buy a scalextric set, you will have much more fun than watching motor racing.

Not a fan of motor racing but came in here by mistake, so I thought I may as well post something inspiring before I go.

If Alonso could go back in time and change one thing, it would be to not act so rashly during his first stint at McLaren. He had the car and the resources to be a 4 or 5 time World Champion by now but he allowed a rivalry with Hamilton to get out of hand.

I also wonder how Hamilton's career would have panned out had Alonso decided to stay. I think he'd still be at least a two time world champion. I actually think he performed better and at a much higher and consistent level in 2007 than he did in his first world title winning year in 2008 because of the challenge of having Alonso as his team mate and would have carried that over into 2008 had Fernando stayed. Alonso's successor at McLaren, Kovalainen, was underwhelming to say the least in 2008 and he almost lost the title to Felipe Massa, who with the best will in the world, is NOT world champion material. His performance at Silverstone that year where he spun off like 10 times in weather conditions Hamilton mastered was a shambles.

Disappointing end to the season. Lewis had faded out after his Championship win and Rosberg won three dull races. As racer says - fingers crossed for more competitiveness from Ferrari, Renault and Honda! We need it!

Only watched brief parts flicking over during the tennis which is fair I guess. Not every day that you see Great Britain become Davis Cup champions! Unbelievable!
