The Dirty Rotten Grunge Thread - Music For The Misguided
« on: November 26, 2010, 12:24:38 AM »
Mother Love Bone started it. Temple Of The Dog may have been the greatest band collaboration of all time, but eventually we ended up with Pearl Jam - My favourite band of all time. Now when I get drunk expect random song lyrics and band facts and occasional videos

Edit: Topic changed

I'll start it, but feel free to put your favorite music from music's greatest genre in here  >:D :action-smiley-035:

Like function? Damn this phone. Binaural. . . Has some quality songs on it, but I would put Yield, Vs and Ten ahead of it. Vedder's soundtrack to Into The Wild has some gems on it

Drunken poetry - Indifference -

I will light the match this morning
 so I wont feel alone. . .
Watch as she lies silent
for soon I will be gone. . .
I will stand arms outstretched
 pretend I'm free to roam.
Oh. . . I will make my way through one more day in hell. . .

How much difference does it make. . .
How much difference does it make. . .

I will hold the candle til it burns up my arm. . .
Oh I'll keep taking punches until their will grows tired. . .
Oh I will stare the sun down until my eyes go blind.
I wont change direction and I wont change my mind. . .

How much difference does it make. . .
How much difference does it make. . .

I'll swallow poison until I grow immune!
I will scream my lungs out til it fills this room! . . .
How much difference. . .
How much difference. . .
How much difference does it make. . .
How much difference does it make. . .

Love that tune man. Has this real feeling to it.. hard to explain, but its inspiring and thought provoking for me.

I want the Pearl to tour again soon. Only seen them the once back in '06, but i still think of it as one of the great gigs ive been to.

For me and 'grunge' it's Screaming Trees every time. ... Forget the rest - here's the best:
What a f**king choon!
Screaming Trees - Dollar Bill [Live]

Screaming Trees - Bed Of Roses

Grunge bands produced the best MTV Unplugged's of all time.

Nirvana & Alice in Chains. Just perfect.

I saw the Pearl Jam live a few years ago, it was immense. I remember Black was almost 10 minutes long. They also played 'I Believe in Miracles' by the Ramones and a The Who song, can't remember which one.

Oh hello, how did I miss this thread :o
Strange I should find it now as I'm sat at work listening to Soundgarden's Superunknown album (4th of July, to be precise).

I have a fairly broad taste in music but this was without doubt my favourite era / genre. Just wish I had my own pc so I could post up some clips.

Mark Lanegan = the Mutt's Nuts

Yup, I'm off to see Kyuss in April  ;D
I love Screaming Trees as well, there's a video on YouTube of Witness live featuring Josh Homme. It's excellent.

The live version of Release is incredible. Vedders voice when that builds...wow

I'll be keeping tabs on this thread now.
