U2 releasing their next album this spring. It's a must have for me. Thought No Line On The Horizon was their best since Zooropa despite what others say. Was a real grower of an album.

Also The Edge has announced tonight at the NME Awards that the band will be headlining Glastonbury on the Friday night!!!

Change The Way You Kiss Me - Example Live At Brake Hall

I've met him before, before and after a gig, was a few weeks before he brought out 'Kickstarts' and had really got 'big'. Had a chat about Fulham beating Juve 4-1 and music in general. Loved it :)

Shot me threw the foot? I'm not the biggest dubstep fan so wouldn't be the songs biggest fan. Looking forward to the more dancey feel he's bringing to the new album.

Kanye's latest album was sheer brilliance. I'm not a big hip-hop fan but I have heard Lupe's latest track, 'the show goes on' one and I think it's not better than any track on My Deep Dark Twisted Fantasy.

As I said, not the biggest hip-hop fan, but I don't get the hype over Lupe's new one. The Cool was, well cool, but it's not as good as I had expected.

'Show Goes On' is the song he released last year as a teaser for his new album to be released later this year. His new one is 'Words I Never Said'.

I love My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy but it's not a patch on College Dropout. The tracks on MBDTF won't have that lasting effect that College Dropout did. The songs get boring after a while but College Dropout tracks are still brilliant.

I listened to the new REM earlier and really enjoyed it.

The new Devotchka is pretty good, too.

Any chance you were just watching the Late Late show and heard Elbow? They are my scene but I never really got into them, loved Grounds For Divorce, brilliant track.

Turned it off. I hate Ryan Tubridy with the last year. A few years back when he was on 2FM and Tubridy Tonight, I thought he was brillaint. Now, with what feels like every guest no matter if their a politician, musician, artist, comedian or a person from any walk of life, his first question is directly about the economy/politics. Straight away puts the interview on a downer. Really gets on my tits, because with the budget he has it could be a brilliant show.

Unfortunately I was too young for the first coming of the Strokes but I'm loving the new stuff out this year

Yeah BR, I got it Friday - a really enjoyable album from a top act - back to their best, in my opinion. I particularly like 'Every Day Is Yours to Win' & 'Mine Smell Like Honey'.

It won't disappoint too many, I would think.

New The Strokes album is out (at least on the internet!)

Got it last night, been listening to it at work. Don't know what to think yet, there are some catchy songs but it's pretty much just 'more of the same'. That's not necessarily a bad thing though!

I'm not gonna lie, this album is one of the most anticipated albums of my life. I'm actually gonna go and buy the hard copy too :)

For anyone into hip hop, these are IMO the top 10 albums of the year so far:

In order;

3) Free Agent - Joell Ortiz
4) The Greatest Story Never Told - Saigon
5) Gray Poupon - Doap Nixon
6) Shaolin vs Wu-Tang - Raekwon
7) Slaughterhouse: The EP - Slaughterhouse
8) Bad Time Zoo - Sims
9) Lasers - Lupe Fiasco
10) Gutter Rainbows - Talib Kweli

Sorry to wander off topic with a 2009 album but looking at your list, vitez, I was just wondering if you own the Blakroc album and if so, what you think of it?

The Vaccines album is quite good.

Nothing special any means, and definitely several weak points, but it makes for an easy, quick, fun listen.

Nope, don't own it but I've listened to it - not a big fan of it.  Was a good album and a unique one, but not great if you know what I mean.  I've got a feeling the new one they're releasing this year will be better polished.

Fair enough. Personally it's one of my favourite rap / hip-hop albums. I always find it hard to listen to full rap albums without getting bored of them but I can listen to that over and over. Then again, I'm a big fan of Black Keys anyway.

The new ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead album, Tao of the Dead, is excellent.

Sadly, I'm not really feeling the new Rival Schools like I did when I first listened to it.

I've tried to like this offering I really have as I'm a fan of the Strokes (particularly live) but jaysus - this is ordinary. Catchy enough here and there but by no means worth a five year wait.

I'm sure enough folk will like it enough; if for no other reason other than 'loyalty'. Too many unmemorable tracks, i'm afraid.

Have to agree with most of that. Not saying it's a bad album, actually I've been listening to it quite a lot since it's out, but definitely not their most inspired work. I'm a huge Strokes fan, particularly their debut album, and their gig @ Rio back in 2005 was one of the best I've ever been to, but I'm not impressed.

Well I like it :) I wasn't expecting it to be as good as Is This it, and it isn't, mainly seeing as the way it was recorded was so ridiculous, Nick Valensi, the lead guitarist said he never wants to record another album in the same way as Angles, where everything was done separately and the band was hardly ever in the studio together, but i still think there are some decent catchy songs that stick in your head, mainly: Under cover of darkness, machu picchu, taken for a fool, call me back, life is simple in the moonlight.
