I'll take that! How it wasn't more from Liverpool I will never know, but would have taken this all day long! First day win since 2008! Huge relief, delighted!

Thought we passed really well, and there was no average performance - really nervy towards the end and you could tell, but with a bit more sharpness up front with a few more games we would have won comfortably. Impressed with Toure and Aspas too.

Good result, could have been a lot more, if it wasn't for their keeper. Lucas my man of the match.

First time we've won on opening day of the season. Don't know what I would have done if they had got out of that 1-1. Very nervous performance by the fans and the team those last 10-15 minutes. Obviously knew how vital it was to take those three points.

Best thing is - was a phenomenal first game of the season with a lot of quality. You can see why people call it the most entertaining league in the world. Fair play to Stoke. They didn't give up and Hughes made them look positive but they didn't deserve much from that game and Mignolet's save was justice for Liverpool's performance.

I've said it before, I'll take 38 1-0 wins like that one every season!

Mignolet an instant legend for that double save. Delighted with that, even the 1-0 wins count, that's what we we have been missing the past few years, is the strength to keep hold of a 1-0 lead for more than 45 minutes.

As others have said, the most entertaining 1-0 games I've ever seen.
