Brendan Rodgers has named Daniel Sturridge in his side for Liverpool's Barclays Premier League clash against Aston Villa at Anfield this afternoon.

The England international makes the manager's starting line-up for the first time since November 9 against Fulham, while there's an 11th consecutive start for Raheem Sterling.

Rodgers makes just one change to the team that beat Stoke City 5-3 on Sunday, with Lucas Leiva moving to the bench.

Cracking team that. Caution to the wind, go put 5 past them.

Love to see Suarez bagging his obligatory 2 & Sturridge bagging a hat trick, and F**k it I'm gonna be greedy and ask that young Coutinho gets 1or2,

Reading have set the bench mark bagging 7 against Trotters, we Cant be undone by a championship side surely ,

sh*t lineup that, not scary at all. Midtable mediocrity.

Don't like Benteke's height and strength against our defense which he was pretty prolific against last year. Especially on set pieces he could be a threat.

But SAS are back in action, Hendo and Sterling are coming of age nicely, Coutinho's always a threat and Gerrard's the backbone of that front six, extremely dangerous when they're all in action and firing on all cylinders. Could see a big scoreline, maybe 4-2 in a realistic approach, but my heart is saying 6-0 

I will happily settle for a win, not too worried about the score, more worried that Villa's pace will cause real problems through the middle of our midfield.

Watching this one in the ale house with my manc mate should be fun come on you reds.

Same here, a win will do for me! Can't help feel its a bit cock sure to assume we will run through this lot after they walked it at Anfield last season. Be interesting to see how we line up, will it be 4-2-3-1 or a flat 4-4-2, it wouldn't surprise me if its the latter.

My only concern is that we've got no impact players whatsoever on the bench. I do not however expect Aston villa to take the lead, so I'm confident that this very offensive line up will pay off.
