Joe Allen replaces Raheem Sterling in the only change to the Liverpool line-up by Brendan Rodgers for the Barclays Premier League clash against Southampton on Saturday.

The Welshman starts a league fixture for the first time since suffering an injury in the 2-1 defeat by Chelsea on December 29.

Otherwise, the boss has selected exactly the same starting XI that dramatically downed Swansea City last Sunday.

I knew Coutinho or Sterling would make way for Allen but very surprised its Sterling to be honest

He's been our most dangerous attacker the last few games, even more of a threat than Suarez has been.

Coutinho sometimes goes into his shell away from home.

On top of that Sterling has been amazing in his work ethic, tracking back to protect the fullbacks.

Let's hope it works out.

Nice team selection that.  Solid in midfield but with enough attacking threat up front to cause them problems.
