West Ham 1-2 Liverpool: In game and Post Match Delight
      Apr 06, 2014 03:00:10 pm

Starting XI: Mignolet, Johnson, Flanagan, Sakho, Skrtel, Gerrard, Henderson, Coutinho, Sterling, Suarez, Sturridge

Subs: Jones, Toure, Cissokho, Lucas, Moses, Allen, Aspas

Brendan Rodgers has made just one change to his Liverpool line-up for the Reds' Barclays Premier League fixture against West Ham United at Upton Park this afternoon.

The manager has selected a near identical side to the one which thrashed Tottenham Hotspur 4-0 at Anfield last Sunday, bringing Mamadou Sakho into the side in place of Daniel Agger.

For Sakho, the game brings a first start since the powerful Frenchman lined up against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on December 29.

Elsewhere, Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge are up top for the Reds with Raheem Sterling and Philippe Coutinho supplementing the visitors' attacking threat.

Wow, amazing line up , very positive and great to see Sakho in. Anyone know if Agger is injured or just not selected? :S

Was coming to ask the same. At first I thought Brendan had opted for more physicality at the back with Sakho but then seeing Agger is not even on the bench, it looks like a decision made because of an injury.

It says no return date on physioroom so Agger could be out  for the running.   Sakho is probably better when fit this season anyway.  Let's hope we don't get more injuries there. I think we're a bit physical in training it seems.

Not liking the look of that bench, hopefully we won't need to make forced subs. Great to see Sakho back again, he was starting to find form just before the injury.

Don't underestimate West Ham.  They're not on a terrible run at the moment and it's an away game.  Potential Banana skin. We got to go into this game knowing that we will likely be grinding a result out.

Bit apprehensive about this one really hoping for the early goal to settle the nerves.
I like Sakho but it's a tough one to come back into after 3 months

Great team. Gerrard must make sure he doesn't get a yellow card as he will miss City game asks will be a disaster. Can't believe Agger is injured again. Never known someone so prone to injury. Come on lads storm out of the posts and kill the hammers off before they can get going.

Very positive line up from the gaffer again with both Coutinho and Sterling in the same side again. As well as Agger has been playing recently it could turn out to be a blessing in disguise given that Sackho is the more physical of the two players. Seems to me Brendan has picked a side that says "see if you can deal with us" rather than worrying what West Ham can do which is as it should be. My only real concern is making sure we are first to 2nd balls which is Nolan's forte and this will fall on Stevie and Hernderson to always be first. Could also play to our advantage that their crowd have been getti on Fat Sam's back recently, things could go well if we get up an early goal and play some of the football their fans crave so desperately.
