Crystal Palace 3-3 Liverpool: In game and Post Match Assistance

Starting XI: Mignolet, Johnson, Flanagan, Skrtel, Sakho, Gerrard, Allen, Lucas, Sterling, Sturridge, Suarez

Jones, Toure, Agger, Coutinho, Aspas, Moses, Cissokho

Brendan Rodgers has made one change to his Liverpool line-up for tonight's Barclays Premier League clash with Crystal Palace – Daniel Sturridge replaces Philippe Coutinho at Selhurst Park.

The striker returned from injury as a substitute during the Reds' 2-0 defeat by Chelsea eight days ago and is now included from the start, with his Brazilian teammate dropping to the bench.

Otherwise, the Northern Irishman retains faith with the same selection as in each of the past two matches; Victor Moses is eligible to re-join the squad after missing the tie with his parent club.

Midfielder Jordan Henderson, meanwhile, completes his three-game suspension this evening.

Rodgers' side can reclaim top spot in the Premier League from Manchester City with either a victory or a draw against the Eagles, ahead of the final weekend of the season.

Back to our winning ways now that clint is back creating the threads.

Odd dropping Coutinho if we really are going to go all out scoring?

I'd normally hope for a 1-0 win for us but we need a bucket load tonight to put pressure on City .

      Two things

      1) Good to see Sturridge back.  Assuming it is a fully fit Sturridge.
      2) Think Lucas can consider himself very lucky to be starting ahead of Coutinho.  Needs to put a game in for us.

Coutinho our super sub I take it. Palace park the bus but then need breaking down.

Thank god Clint is back, no offence to who did it last time, it just didn't feel right.

Interesting to see Brendan keep faith with Lucas and drop Coutinho to the bench, not sure about that choice myself if I'm honest. What an absolute massive game.

Would be interesting to see what score people would take?

1-0 and hope for a favour elsewhere?
2-0 really doesn't do much for the goal difference.
3-0 I think actually puts us in there with the slimmest of possibilities in terms of goal difference.
4-0 I'd say at this point we make City start to think about it and create doubts slightly in their minds.

4-0 is the lowest I'd take off you right now but with the same token I'd be delighted with 4-0 too. Anything above that and I really will start to dream about a massive final day.

Luis and Studge are really due a couple each, Brendan will have them absolutely fired up and a goal in the first 10 minutes for us would give us an enormous boost.

      COME ON REDMEN!!!

At the end of the day, I'll take a 1-0 win if that's what it takes. Most important thing is 3 points first and foremost. Now if we are playing well and battering them, then we might as well see what we can do and keep the pressure on the whole game.

Maybe why Brendan has Coutinho on the bench? Bring him in early in the second half with fresh legs to keep the pressure on?

Can't see us scoring many with Lucas and Allen both playing. Should be enough to win the game though.

Pretty much what everyone expected in the XI besides Lucas for Coutinho. Such a tough call because Gerrard/Allen/Coutinho leaves you open, Gerrard/Allen/Lucas doesn't really create as many scoring opportunities. Thankfully Henderson is back vs Newcastle.

You could be right with that FL, the idea of Coutinho fresh against a weakening Palace does appeal but to really set the tone we need that early start we've become famous for. I think Lucas detracted from that against Chelsea, granted their tactics and time wasting didn't help but the tempo we lose with him as an attacking force just slows us up too much.

Need a massive game from Allen and Lucas in that first half. Don't let Palace out of their half and suffocate them until them can do nothing but concede.
