This will be a struggle, they know we are there for the taking without Sturridge and our recent form. If we win then I would go for along the lines of a 3-2.

It's not gonna be pretty football that's for sure.

Br needs to win a game and leave ballotelli on the bench and play borni for his energy if nothing else. Sad to say but we have to win this game, I fear this and going out of the CL midweek would seriously kill what is left of our dreadful season.

Missed the last couple of matches so looking forward to seeing this one tomorrow. Not that I suddenly expect free scoring flowing attacking football, nope, it's more the expectation that comes from not having a clue how it's going to go :)
The pressure on BR's growing and so will be fascinating to see if he can come up with a good poker hand with relatively low cards. He's done a lot of shuffling, but has folded too many hands recently.
Maybe one or two of the players will step up, lead by example, show some individual brilliance. Need some inspiration. And if not, any chance we could slug it out and come out the end with a scrappy 3 points. Backbone and balls.

I said a clean sheet would be a start but why methinks they might get one from a set piece ?

Is Mario injured? BBC has a photo of him at the boxing. Surely the team are in London?

Apparently Super Mario is injured so not involved with Liverpool tomorrow and has permission to be there.

Echo says Mario is out and I got this "predicted" line-up from some blog:

      Mignolet
      Manquillo-Skrtel-Lovren-Moreno
      Henderson-Stevie-Can
      Sterling-Rickie-Lallana

Guessing the subs could be Jones, Johnson, Toure, Allen, Coutinho, Markovic, Borini

                                   Mignolet
              Manquillo Skrtel Lovren Moreno
                       Henderson  Emre Can
                                  Coutinho
                    Sterling.                 Lallana
                                     Borini
Bench ;Jones, Johnson, Toure, Gerrard, Allen, Markovic Lambert

This is how I would start the palace match, give it a hour see how we're doing, if needs must stick Gerrard on for coutinho, Markovic for Sterling, and throw Ricky on for Fabio,
I'd be even tempted to play 3 at the back for the last half hour to get the win,  Toure for Manquillo, Gerrard for coutinho and stick Ricky up top with BorinI,

Just want to see Brendan try something different,
      Just f***in win,

what odds would you have got on Borini being our first choice striker back in July/August dear God what a mess.
Anyhoo I hate Warnock with a passion and we really are due a but of luck and a performance so a nice 5-0 thrashing is just what the doctor ordered

A win vital today, to stop us slipping into the bottom of the table. If the lads show up today, a hard fought out win should be on the cards.

Finally the madness is finished! I protected the MAN and the player that I am today...

...taking all the responsibility of the situation and for people who didn't want it...

...and Im VERY happy with myself to have taken such an important decision!

      @borinifabio29

September 2nd   Twitter: from Fabio Borini.

Rodgers wanted him gone . Borini priced himself out of moves to Sunderland and QPR on personal terms.

Well Borini.  Cometh the hour cometh the man.
Youve done f**k all so far this season.
Step up and prove Rodgers wrong in trying to force you out.

(At the moment lucky he didnt ?)

      PS . Mr Borini .
Dont forget the "Two Minute To Score" challenge.

Both my cat and dog will be watching  ;D

Think Rickie will get his chance today.  Mario left at home injured and Brendan said in his PC that Rickie would get more chances over the coming weeks.

Do us a favour Brendan and select the best players on form to start the game. Toure, Can, Lallana, Coutinho and Borini have to start the game.

Approaching 5pm where I am, kick off at 7.30 so I've been looking forward to this all day. Have to trick my browser into thinking I'm using a UK IP address so I can access Sky Go ;) Gotta love the internet!

3 points are a must here, a good performance would be great but a scrappy, undeserved 1-0 will suffice.

Come on boys lets get back on track!!
