I've never seen ANYTHING to have me believe these Fenway cheerleaders actually ARE fans.
Getting unpaid/low paid interns at pr agencies to spend half the day posting under different user names all over the web is easy. Its probably the most cost effective way to utterly deceive a customer/supporter base.

As Rafa says, say a lie often enough and it becomes treated as truth. The Fenway fans have convinced the gullible that black is white. 56k fans were on the waiting list, and Scamway say 8k ontop of 45k satisfies all demand. What utter lies! Likewise with the wage slashes and perpetual sale of stars.

Many of the real fans I know are actually knocking the internet on the head. Me to, I feel the constant desecration of our (former!) values is extremely distasteful. We became one of Europe's greatest CLUBS (not "brands"). We dont need any greedy hedge fund shyster from Boston or some
rounders fan from Idaho lecturing US about what Liverpool football club should be about.

Instead of one Hicks and one Gilette, we now have 18 Gilettes running LFC. Smarmy, duplicitious, utterly disinterested. And, just as in the last 3 mths pre takeover, likely frontmen for other sleazeballs.

what a bundle of joy you are

I'm not too bothered by the money. As long as we can afford it !  Just sign him up. Be nuts not to.

      THIS

ANY supporter who prattles on about f**king wages needs something better to do. go fill your mind with football knowledge. go watch our old games. stop pretending to know ANYTHING about something we all know nothing about!!

Exactly! Selling and replacing doesn't work. Yes hes not Ronaldo or messi but hes not a terrible player. Just sign him up. Sell him and we will be back to square one... like the start of this season.

just pay the lad.  i mean if we were over performing at work.. and for awhile you pretty much kept the company going... you would want a nice fat pay raise as well.  a soccers player's career is fickle, who knows what happens next year.  he has a chance to cash in now.. of course he is going to ask

Since signing his contract Coutinho has been better than Sterling.   Will the owners after agreeing a contract with Sterling then offer something different to Coutinho?

At the end of the day if this bores anybody then don't post.  Some fans want to have an opinion on wages of the club a player in particular it is an opinion like any other thread on this forum.  If this is pointless.  Then so can discussing transfers or team line ups.  Whatever ya.

I really cant see why this is taking so long, if he wanted this to be done behind closed doors then he wouldnt hire a horrible agent who's giving it the air time to get him a bigger deal. BR talking about it to the press hasnt helped things he should say a generic "its clubs business what players earn not yours" statement and be done. knowbody is talking about Henderson not signing a new deal as the lad has kept it under wraps and came out with statements saying his agent and club will sort it out not me. Sterling i'm sure wants to sign a new deal as its an impressive amount to earn so young but the fact that pen to paper has taken this long something must be wrong. only time will tell but i dont want it dragging out all summer as we will all get fed up with him

Sterling, for his part, is looking for a deal worth closer to £150,000 a week
      *Echo*

Not sure how reliable is this guy but Sterling at 20 demanding for 150k-a-week is just plain outrageous. Steven Gerrard is still on 160k-a-week if I'm not wrong. Even Luis Suarez wasn't earning 150 before he signed that contract with the release clause. WTF his so-called advisors really think? Look at Bale, who after winning the CL for them, is being booed game after game after game.

I, and so do everybody, really hope this stand-off is resolved sooner cos Hendo, Skrtel, Allen will have to follow next.

I don't think Hendo would be looking for that nor try to hold the club hostage.

      Same with Skrtel

And Allen...well Joe needs to pay us back for the 2 years he did nothing and got paid for it.

Nah.. I didn't mean these guys would cause hold-up too, just that they are 'next-in-line' to put pen on paper. Joe shouldnt be a problem. Martin I guess has just a year left.

Yeah and he's moving to play for £73k a week in the good old U.S. of A. Pity we didn't offer him a contract last summer but I digress.

So, Vick, as "at 20" seems to be at the crux  for you; let's compare 'like for like'...

Steven Gerrard "at 20", playing today, for Liverpool F.C.:

In your opinion: What wage could he command: more than £160k? What fee could he have been sold for: more than £35m?  :confused-smiley-013:

Nah mate.. The crux is, he still has a lot to improve and a lot of football ahead of him. Its clear that our owners like to provide incentivized pay to our players, pretty much the model going forward. If the boy is really focused on improving, he should be advising his advisors to wrap this up quickly. Again, I have no clue on whats going on and what are the real numbers but just hoping this is sorted asap!

He's done well the lad but not enough to warrant 150k a week.

I think he'll be on his way to sunnier climes, wherever the lad goes he hasn't got a hope of getting £150k+ as a starting wage.

150k a week? Not a chance. Pure greed.

I'd give him 100k a week and be done with it.

If he doesn't like it, Brendan should show him where the door is.

The people I feel sorry for are the regular supporters who can no longer afford to go to Anfield  because of the exorbitant ticket prices. It must make good REDS sick who struggle to pay bills and bring kids up when you get a young player demanding a 150 grand a week.

The "regular supporters" were forgotten about years ago Bill. Murdoch and Sky have ruined British football and this current new deal with them will only heighten the greed of prima donnas like Sterling and their agents.

Those hoping that the extra money from Sky/BT will help clubs offset ticket prices are complete fantasists. Our lot at LFC are guilty of trying to promote a fallacy too. They say that they'll introduce cheaper kids tickets but by the same token they're going to ramp up adult prices.

And people wonder why Anfiels is so mute. We'll soon be swapping pies for 'prawn sandwiches' :f_tongueincheek:

If our owners are prepared to keep our best players then surely if Chelsea offered him £150k we would match that amount & keep one of our best players at the club.

We are following the Arsenal model to the tee, sell our best talent to the highest bidder as long as we keep hitting the 4 the spot.

Interesting, it is weird that Modric is not on that list. 150K is to much even for such talent as Sterling. After all he is still a talent that needs to be proven to be worth 150K.
