Pre-Match: Liverpool v Aston Villa Sat 26th Sept 15:00 KO
      Sep 24, 2015 10:38:11 am
Saturday brings another important game in our season, a victory is a must.

After a mixed line up for the game against Carlisle I expect we will go back to a full strength side.

Rumours that Benteke (2 weeks) and Lovren (2 months) will miss the game, as well as Henderson.

Firmino is likely to be ok to be involved in the squad.

I would prefer us to go back to a 4-4-2 (diamond) for this one:

      Mignolet

      Clyne
      Skrtel
      Sakho
      Moreno

      Lucas

      Milner (c)
      Emre Can

      Coutinho

      Ings
      Sturridge

Subs: Bogdan; Gomez; Allen, Rossiter; Lallana, Ibe; Origi.

I think that is our best side with our current injuries and am confident that we can win this, I'm going for 2-0.

Let's get going, be positive and get behind Brendan and the players!

I expect we will go back to a full strength side.

Exactly wtf would that be? Cos we cant score more than a goal and we are guaranteed to let at least one in.. And for reasons known only to BR, we are not playing a diamond. This will be a 3-4-1-2 again, poor Can.

Migs; Can, Skrtel, Sakho; Clyne-Milner-Lucas-Moreno; Coutinho; Ings, Studge

Will be another frustrating Saturday afternoon. I'm going for a 0-0 draw.

I think he will go with the below:

                        Mignolet

      Clyne       Skrtel     Sakho    Moreno

                           Lucas
                Milner               Can

            Coutinho                Lallana

                            Ings

Benteke can be out for ever more, after the last two performances I don't see how Ings can be dropped. Same goes for Bogdan because if he's dropped after his heroics last night and Mignolet's mistakes again this season, it'll be a travesty.

      Bogdan

      Can     Skrtel     Sakho

      Clyne    Lucas     Milner    Moreno

      Coutinho

      Ings     Sturridge

      Yep.

I've never been as passive about our football in so long. Even under Hodgson he was such a tw*t and got under your skin you could get angry.

I might get slaughtered for saying this, and never thought I would say it, but if I knew for a fact that FSG would fire him if we lost this I'd take the hit.

      We need to move on.

Sad as it is, I think most of us feel the same, it's fu**ed up that I/we can't even enjoy any game anymore because it's just one game and the bigger picture is he can't win us stuff.

Hoping for the best, but expecting the worst. Villa concede goals like nobody's business, but can actually score. Can we do that currently?

Dont want can in a back 4 mate. Rather have him where i have him in my team. Gives us the option for a 3 man midfield ... gets about the pitch more too. I dont mind lucas for arsenal away etc ... but not villa at home. If you dont want skrtel in ... maybe try gomez in him proper position of right centre back next to sakho.

I have no issue with 3-5-2, it suits Moreno more than Clyne though, and you can deploy it as an attacking and defensive formation.  Doesn't matter how many we have at the back if all we do is take pot shots from range, when attacking.  Moreno, Origi & Ings all made runs that were ignored last night, either by teammates who just oblivious or too scared to try the pass.

Sadly, I just don't care at this point. :( Sad times being a Liverpool supporter.

I don't enjoy watching us as all we are trying to do is not lose. Having said that, we will probably spank AV 5-0 and shut Sherwood's gob. :)

Rudy Gestede will do that instead, we couldn't handle him at Anfield last year in the Cup.

Villa are absolutely sh*te right now but I still don't fancy us to win this one.

                 Bogdan
      Clyne Sakho Skrtel Moreno
              Can Milner Allen
                 Coutinho
                Ings Studge

Bogdan in. Am loosing patience with Migs. Can stop shops, sure. But puts the fear of God in me with ball at feet and flapping at crosses.
Lovren I wouldn't have selected anyway, Sahko should get a run now. At home, would start Moreno ahead of Gomez.
Milner needs to become the player he thinks he is ... a midfielder who can influence a game. Get a grip on it James ffs.
In Cou/Ings/Studge, there is the hope of goals.  Cou needs to calm down and make the simple pass. Ings is in form.

Benteke out might be a blessing. F**k the long ball sh*t. Get it down on the ground between Cou/Ings/Studge and we have a chance.

Can't say am in any way confident. Flip of a coin. BR on knife edge. But we still should have enough quality to beat Villa. Should...
