Indeed; we are a goal scoring machine in the League Cup this season.

Strangely enough, last season we only scored, more than 1 goal, in just one League Cup game out of the five we played under the boss [Saints away = 6] and only 3 in the other four.  :o

Thankfully the games against Burton and Derby have seen that average boosted and long may it continue... another 4 against Spurs will do.

As stated some time yesterday, my comment was just a sh*t stirring one. Not one to get into a serious debate over.

Too late... I just have to post anything (they don't even read what's actually been said) and I've them foaming at their fannies in the rush to disagree.

But so seems ManCity as well. Kind of soured my day seeing that we didn't come any closer to them.

If you're more concerned with how rival teams perform than ourselves then how in gods name are you ever supposed to enjoy supporting the club?

Have to hand it to Jürgen, everything he touches turns to gold at the moment. James Milner is playing like the best left back in the league, free transfer Matip is proving to be a revelation and our midfield three which looks like lightweight on paper is absolutely tearing it up and getting better and better by the game, even Lallana is scoring! Happy time to be a Red!!!

I agree mate, I bet Can and Grujic didn't expect this sort of competition for places :)

Delighted how Jürgen has brought the best out of players that didn't look that great last season while the "new boys" seem to be settling in brilliantly.

Long way to go but maybe my expectation for just a title challenge was a little pessimistic :) Sadly not quite up there with Micks prediction of a couple of years ago, but I fought harder for mine!

The thing is... We've already played most of the big boys and done well.

Let's wait until they've played Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs before we start making crazy assumptions.

They might get stuffed by all three. Where as just like them... We will probably wipe the floor with the rest.

I think our position is as good as first considering who we've played so far.

And if we keep playing like we are nobody can live with us and that includes City, who impressive as they've been haven't really faced a team who goes into a match expecting to win.

I think we'll tear them a new one when we play them especially if we keep progressing every game like we have done.

It's just a shame we had that crazy match against Burnley, because on another day that would have ended up exactly like the Hull match.

We'd be sitting pretty in second with a better goal difference just waiting to pounce.

It's just a shame we had that crazy match against Burnley, because on another day that would have ended up exactly like the Hull match.

Hull would have been another Burnley had we not learned how to unlock teams parking the bus. Hull played with the back four as deep as inside six yards and placed a midfield five just a little further outside the box.

I observed. We went left wing, pulled back, switched to right wing, pulled back deep, stretched their shape, then cracked up a gear and passed into the paces while moving forward quickly and outnumbering the back four and leaving their midfield in our wake.

How are you going to park the bus against us if we play like that? May as well play with 11 men on the goaline. We will never go back to the Burnley kind of game ever again. If you park, we will stretch you. If you leave gaps behind, thank you.

We're heading for the title or runners up if we keep playing like that and with luck on our side.

There is no doubt the Boss has this team purring along at the moment , will be very interesting to see the tactics the scum roll into town with when they rock up to anfield in a few weeks time , I do feel though that the next target is the elusive clean sheet , hit that on a regular basis and we could be in for a very special season .
Keep it going boss the football is class .

One of our best starts in competitive football for a long while.

      6 wins 1 draw 1 defeat.

Both 07/08 and 08/09 we kicked off with 5 wins and 3 draws in all comps.
