      Dortmund 1-1 Liverpool: In-game & Post-match "YNWA"!
      Apr 07, 2016 06:50:49 pm

Liverpool at Signal Iduna Park (Westfalenstadion)

Starting XI: Mignolet, Clyne, Lovren, Sakho, Moreno, Henderson, Can, Milner, Lallana, Coutinho, Origi.

Subs: Ward, Toure, Smith, Allen, Ibe, Firmino, Sturridge.

Divock Origi starts for Liverpool in tonight’s Europa League quarter-final, first-leg clash against Borussia Dortmund.

The Belgian forward is drafted into the line-up as Jürgen Klopp makes just one change to his team at Signal Iduna Park.

Elsewhere, Roberto Firmino is named on the bench after recovering from a hamstring injury.

      Some power on that bench.

Hopefully it's Monster Mama and not Silly Sakho.

      Origi...pressure on the kid.

      LETS GO!

Sturridge has done nothing to warrant a start today. Just saying. Good bench, some killing instinct in there as well

In my opinion he's got it spot on, win, lose or draw.

I think keeping Skrtel out of the first XI is the right move and pretty obvious (despite it being raised elsewhere).

Really disappointed that Firmino is still recovering but he will be great off the bench. Origi up top I think will give us the threat in behind and the movement we will desperately need. He's also shown recently that he's pretty decent holding up the ball and it was this combination that I thought would make him the right choice and believe it's the driving force behind Jürgen's decision.

Despite what people try to say in Sturridge's thread it's clear he either isn't applying himself fully (FL's theory) or he is indeed feeling a little sorry for himself out there. The fall out from this will be huge, there's no way I see Sturridge accepting being stuck on the bench for the biggest game of our season despite it clearly having logic, I think it's the final nail in the coffin of Studge leaving but that's for another time.

Let's take it to the boys, soak up the pressure and then break with purpose. If they get the first goal  I want to see a reaction from the likes of Henderson/Lovren to really keep morale up, losing even 2-1 here while not what we want keeps us right in it. Anything better than a 1 goal loss I think is a magnificent result, come on Reds!!!!!!

      Edit: Forgot Benteke got injured.

So Origi up front and no Firmino means less firepower up front.

Skrtel not even on the bench could it be the end of his career.

Can't wait got the beers in and settling down to hopefully a great night for the Mighty Reds.

Bender playing at CB could this be a weakness we can exploit?

That's what I was thinking too. Guess it'll be nice to bring Sturridge and Firmino on at 65 minutes to mix it up

Skrtel totally dropped. I approve of this. I approve of the line up and the bench. He got it right! Ideally Firmino would start but I understand he has had problems the last month.

He's played there a few times this season. Haven't seen how he's done though.

I would imagine Origi will be asked to run their CB's ragged for 60mins, then Boom Sturridge and Firmino

Bit surprised no Sturridge. Origi will give us more energy, but he's not the finisher Daniel is. I probably would've started Sturridge, but apart from that, pretty much as would have selected it :)

Origi did deserve to start over Sturridge.  Entirely reasonable decision.

Still scared though! Come on the red men!

If Suarez had been having a lackluster spell, would any of us have him on the bench in a big game? I doubt it.

I'd give Daniel the same benefit of the doubt...he may not be on top form, but he could find that form at any minute.

It is what it is, Klopp knows better than me.

No because Suarez offers so much more when he isn't scoring. He does continue to run and sprint for 90 minutes and doesn't let his head drop, there's a world of difference between the two when they aren't scoring.

Yea he's also prone to bouts of terrorism when he's not playing well also....we at least know Danny isn't going to go chompers on someone ;D
