Outstanding fee for Smith in my opinion.

£6m would be good money for a largely unproven player and Bournemouth would be a pretty good learning ground for him. Has looked pretty good when coming on though with us. Smart move with the buyback clause in that case. The difference between our business negotiations over the last few+ years compared to what's been shown already under Klopp is pretty remarkable.

Yep definitely some deals popping up out of nowhere, certainly no word about Wijnaldum until he was almost through the door. Still think Ayre has a bit of a hotline to the 'reliable' journos, will be interesting if that stops when he shifts, doubt it to be honest as I think it's much more likely club policy.

      So Smith is going, fine.

Who is going to replace Moreno?

surely we're not going to go into the season with him starting again at LB.

Disappointed because he is from my home town but £6m is fantastic business.

Suits Bournemouth and he needs game time.

I like the lad but suspect he isn't quite good enough for LFC in the long run so it would appear to be a good piece of business on the face of it. With Flanno seemingly set to go out on loan somewhere I hope this means we will see a genuine challenger for Moreno's position in the next couple of weeks. If love to see Hector at the club but it all went a bit quiet on him a few weeks ago. The thought of us being Moreno'd time and time again next season is the stuff of nightmares. Fingers crossed Jürgen feels the same.

As with Ibe, can only wish him all the best in the future. I liked him and was hoping he'd improve to compete with Moreno but it obviously wasn't meant to be.

What a great fee for him with the clause included.

Edit: Just checked the Echo report on it and it says there's a sell on fee and a buy back clause in the deal.

You say get over it, like I'm the only one who has an issue with him.

Do you really think it doesn't matter that he is such a defensive liability?  Did you already forget all the points he cost us last season?

      Does that just.... Not matter?

      You're right. Let's sign Diame.

Didn't see this coming but great fee for him, nearly 23 now isn't he? Looks a way off being able to be a first team regular so good luck to him, can't turn down an offer like that for someone who has barely even played for us.

Great bit of business for us. Would have expected about half that fee.

With Mane and Winjladum in the side he may not be expected to bomb forward and provide width as much and thus probably won't be caught out of position as much, thus would probably be able to concentrate on his defending more.

I'm sure Klopp will bring in some one, but looking at it as it is Klopp obviously has Moreno down as a lesser priority, thus giving the impression he's got a plan in mind to minimize his mistakes.

Good bit of business on our end.  Smith has the potential to become a solid player, but never will become an elite player.

As much as I like Moreno (I'm well aware I'm in the minority here) I'd love us to sign a top class LB to compete with Berto.  RB and LB seem to be the last two positions we don't have a quality backup for.

The good thing about Moreno is at least we know he's not going to overthink the problem.

I would have expected 2m max.

Good luck to him down at the Cherries.

Edit: oops, I was thinking of Brad Jones above. F**k sake.    :D

It's not at all that it doesn't matter but more a case that it's been discussed to death.

If Jürgen chooses to go with Moreno as his starting LB we all know the risk he's assuming. He's either a genius or it's a pretty massive F**k up and it will swing massively. Or, the option I'm a little more hopeful of since Smith looking like he's leaving, Jürgen is just playing with us and we'll sign a LB very soon and then we can all sigh a bit of relief at the sick game Jürgen is playing :D

Didnt Smith resign with us after his contract was up? 6mil is a good fee which can be reinvested in Chilwell, who has failed to agree Leicester's contract.

Amazing what a bit of exposure in the 1st team can do.

He couldn't get a club to sign him last summer after we played hardball with his registration, now we've accepted £6m.

He'll do well at Bournemouth so good luck to him if he accepts what's on offer.
