Lucas should have took it.  Go for the hat-trick and all that! ;)

I honestly wouldn't have been against that, he's put away numerous penalties for us in the past in shootouts.

I know right...kind of like when I feel I have lost a second or two of my life every time you post.

I like the look of Ojo and Wilson tonight. They've played more like seniors than the seniors who actually played (aside from Lucas who has done his job well so far).

Tell you what, if Jürgen honestly believes that there is nobody who can improve at least our squad depth then the market must be completely sh*te.

January market usually is. The odd gem does come through, but the really good players tend to be unavailable.

we need to open up our wallet and recruit

if the likes of Origi, Moreno, Stewart etc get an extended run in the 1st team then we can expect a slide down the table

In all seriousness would we not have been better just playing the u23 team? At least they'd have played together before and have good chemistry and communication.

I think we would have been better indeed.

But I suppose we had to give some game time to Cout and give Stu a chance to prove something? We've only looked like a football team in the last 10 minutes, though. Could have easily cost us the game.

That's saying something because Karius has been flappy mcflapperson tonight.

Exactly my thoughts. They seem much more confident and somehow less reliant on the first teamers to do everything.

Yep.  It can be very intimidating playing alongside players they revere and it can become too easy to leave them to it rather than play your own game.  I see it happen in the FA Youth Trophy when some of the senior u18s are dropped down from the 21s, it disrupts their usual fluency and natural talent is stunted.

Anyway we're through thank F**k, unfortunately we lost in the Youth Trophy 3-1.
