Liverpool 2-3 Swansea City: In game and Post Match discussion
      Jan 21, 2017 11:29:44 am

      Undefeated Anfield

Starting XI: Mignolet, Clyne, Lovren, Klavan, Milner, Henderson, Can, Wijnaldum, Lallana, Firmino, Coutinho.

Subs: Karius, Matip, Moreno, Lucas, Woodburn, Origi, Sturridge.

Jürgen Klopp has made 10 changes to his Liverpool line-up for this afternoon's Premier League meeting with Swansea City.

Only Philippe Coutinho retains his place from the side that faced Plymouth Argyle in midweek, making his first league start for the Reds since late November.

Nathaniel Clyne and Jordan Henderson are both fit to play, while Joel Matip is included among the substitutes.

Got to win this one big to put to bed any suggestion of a slump in form.

Good to see Matip back in the squad. Shame we can't put Lallana in the middle and keep Origi or Sturridge up top

Strong team. Strong bench. Matip being saved for Saints and Chelsea. We needs to win this anyway. We need to take our chances because they will park the bus. YNWA

Clearly we're going to miss Mane but with him out that's the best front 6 we can realistically field. There's a case for Sturridge in for Can and drop Lallana back to midfield but other than that I don't think any of us could argue. (well.... :D )

Think we'll batter these into submission. I think one of the larger problems we've had recently is Origi and while I've written the lad off before and he's bounced back strongly I wont lie in being pleased to see him drop to the bench for now.

Interesting that Matip doesn't come in, clearly the boss held training with the thought that he's more than likely to be out which is fair enough.

Let's smash these and show that talk of a slump or drop off is actually massively overblown, come on!!!

Just seen the team and it obviously should win but not sure why we are playing both Can and Gini. Think only one of them is necessary.

Would drop one and play Lallana deeper with one of Origi or Sturridge starting. Anyway, I have an exam at 12 and will miss the match. When I come out we better be winning and winning well!

Shame to see Gini start in Lallana's spot. Such a waste of Adam's quality.

Hope we see the lads on song and banging them in. Lets smash 'em!

A slight case but by no means (based on recent form) is it a strong case.

Totally agree JD. Personally think both slow our game far too much. I'm happy with the team as I think it's the best XI we can currently field.

Totally agree. Sturridge and Origi are playing below par. Firmino had also been playing below par but I always thought that he plays better as our main striker rather on the wing, exactly like Lallana. Lallana has been brilliant in the middle.

Like everyone else here, would have liked to have seen Lallana deeper as it would've given us more of an attacking threat, but we kinda knew Can would be back, didn't we?

Anyway, hope we win and see Matip come on :D

Still think Lallana should be further back and I think it will happen if struggling to break down

I'd imagine Swansea will be parking the bus.

Glad to have Coutinho back because going on recent form we'd struggle relying on Bobby and even Lallana who I think has excelled where Can is playing today from deep, to get goals.

Fingers crossed. 3pts and leapfrogging Spuds.

Tight five man midfield for Swansea but they do look keen to get players up front themselves when they can.

Huge chance, should score. Clyne has to do more with the space he's getting.

      Hendo and Gini started well.

Liverpool took their time there, looking for the opening - good cross in and Can heads over.
