Time to all put on the ruthless Rafa goatee and let out your end of season frustrations.

Who do you want to see the back of first this summer?

And no you can't choose any of the 'suits'.

My choice would have to be John Arne Riise for that F***ing own goal.

Agreed, he cost us a place in the final.

He also stood there on the first and third goal at Stamford Bridge.  And he called for an amazing performance to reward us!  Ha!

Seriously though, has to be Voronin.

This thread is not the way we say goodbye and thank loyal servants at LFC.

Thats the problem - loyal

Thats where we are going wrong - over loyal

Being too loyal can brainwash you, sometimes some need to wake up and smell the coffee.

That's because this thread isn't 'saying goodbye' to anyone.  So you're not planning on getting rid of any of our players then - they're all up to standard.  Surprised Hicks hasn't offered you the job yet.  Either answer the question in the very first post of the thread or don't post anything.

Riise. Hasn't been good enough for a long long time. Nothing to do with his latest own goal.

Voronin. He'd probably do well for Birmingham or the like. Not a Liverpool striker.

Kewell. He doesn't play for us anyway.

Pennant. He's not good enough. Only looks confident against teams that are below us. And Kuyt is keeping him out the team FFS.

I do believe Riise was at fault in the 2 Chelsea games,1 was the own goal and the other was not playing to the whistle in the return game. However the biggest embarrassment in a L/F.C. shirt this season has to be Voronin= he couldnt even stay on his feet.

I do have feelings for Riise though, as he is Liverpool through and through. However what a donkey he turned out to be!

Kewell is one I can't wait to see the back off, never really had any passion for us! He should stick to his barbies in Australia

Veronin is hopefully gone already, so why waste my vote! Funny Lucas was one of the subjects of a post I just made for another topic, and be as it may that he has many an admirer here, I personally wouldn't miss Lucas. But realistically speaking I don't see that happening, I bet Rafa sees potential aplenty in him, and who am I to argue. He probably will get another season at least to shine lord help us! Er well, there goes my chance of any more positive votes off here. Oh shucks! f_tongueincheek

I agree mate, I don't see the potential that other people see in Lucas myself.  For me he loses alot of possesion, gives away alot of fouls and seems a yard off the premiership pace.  Hopefully he proves me wrong but I can't see him fulfilling the potential that alot of people talk up about him, not in the Premiership anyway.  I still wouldn't get rid of him though, yet!

As for who I want out the door....has to be Voronin.  His name seems to be a bugger to spell for alot of people too, same as Risse Tongue

I'll spell it out for anyone who's not sure.

Voronin. Riise.

Not Veronin. Not Risse.

I have a list of players and they can all leave at the same time: Veronin, Riise, Kewell.  Personally Kewell should return half the money he made off the club.  I wouldn't mind seeing Crouch or Pennant stay, but if they expect to be given starting positions rather than earning them, then they can leave too.

That own goal by Riise really decided it for me!

The story is out there that Newcastle wants him for 3 million. Goodbye! We have Insua and Arbeloa.

As for Voronin; With Crouch bestriding the threshold, and Babel still playing out of position, while Kuyt looks better in the midfield zone, We need to wait and see what Rafa Benitez does this summer.

John Arne Riise for me!

He's not been upto scratch for a long time and I think he'd be better suited elsewhere! I'd like to see him go and do well in Spain, somewhere like Valencia! Wouldn't begrudge him a move to a good side! Smiley

Kewell is just taking up the coveted number 7 shirt now! He signalled a while back that he's concentrating on Australia so leave him to it and let someone else pay him to warm.... what does he warm? He's never even on the bench! Cheesy

Voronin was a free transfer so I'm not going to grumble too much about him! At the end of the day, we all thought he was looking quite sharp at the start of the season yet he didn't keep up with it! It's not his fault, he's give it a good go but it's time to say goodbye and cheers for his efforts! Cheesy

The three usual suspects Voronin, Riise and Kewell and I don't mind in which order. AV cause he's truly is sh*te, Kewell cause he's is the ultimate lead slinger, and last but not least JAR because he alone cost us a place in the final, and he knows it!!
As for Lucas, well I think that you don't become Brazillian Young player of the year by some fluke. He's young, he has to adjust to the prem, which he quite evidentally hasn't yet.  He'll show us his worth in the season after next. Maybe the first three months of next season would be best spent in the ressies character building?
By the time Rafa has finished with him he'll at least doubled in value

Risse has been rubbish for a couple of seasons now..... I want peppe gone as if you analyse the semi, he in my opinion is responsible for his near post and he left it loose twice...although the shotw where good, he really should have got to them better, also look at the 06 cup final...he was responsible for 2 of west hams goals.... he is a good keeper , but he does a jamo and messes up at important times... he needs at least another challenger to his role, which is why carson should come back from villa to put pressure on him....

also one more point not to do with this

hi ...... cant seem to do a new post so here goes...

im sick and tired of LFC baiting on the footy forum on the mirror pages...

please support the small number of LFC fans who constantly get baited on their pages, they are very anti LFC     and I think they need a few people to put the numbers right and balance all of the arguments

by the way this is a great forum

I'm sorry? Shocked You want Pepe Reina, three times winner of the Golden Glove, to go? You've got to be winding me up? Cheesy You've mentioned two matches, both cup games. One of which he went on to win it for us with his penalty saves. The other, had the scores stayed the same barring out John Arne Riise's horrific own goal in the first leg, we would have been going to Moscow!

No wonder the support on The Mirror forums isn't going too well! Wink

I agree that riise should be out however, I hate this attitude "he cost us getting into the final" cause hes not the one to take all the blame. Also, u have all seemed to forgot all the tings tghat JAR has done for us- free-kick against MANURE, goal against levurkasem in champ league quarter final, goal against chelski in carling cup final etc

It's not just the own goal against Chelsea! (Although it felt like the last straw! Wink)

He's a left back, yet he's never actually been that good of a defender! Even playing LM he weren't upto much!

Yes, he's scored THAT free kick against United, and all the other raspers! But Danny Murphy scored against United too! Should we have kept him?....

We all know Kewell needs to get out!

So for me it would be, JAR, been crap for the last 2 seasons, just his sh*te performance in the Chelsea game cemented it. Finnan, surprise choice? Not for me, been a great servant to us, but he's now past his best, and is to slow to play RB now. Voronin, obvious reasons, he's crap! Pennant, not up to Liverpool standard, very inconsistent!

Riise has got to go, for what he has done for us over the years he deserved this season to prove himself but it was his worst yet, he has looked so sub-standard this season and there is no room left for him.
Voronin just cannot stay, the extra water costs for him washing that ponytail is too much, never mind the wages we have to pay him.
Pennant is never going to be in the first 11 and doesn't even appear like a good fringe player to me.
Kewell's out obviously, thank god.
Steve Finnan may have to go aswell, was playing well at the start but bad luck has kept him out of the side and at his age he can't afford to be left on the sidelines that long.
Sami will stay for next season but I can't see him paying too often, this season would have been gruelling for those ageing limbs.
If the rumours I've heard here are true then Agger has to go. Footballers at this level have to drop their extra-curricular hobbies if they want to succeed. Being out for a season with a metatarsal injury seems fishy and it cost us dearly.
Alonso should be let go if we receive a healthy bid for him, there are better options out there and Xabi hasn't shown us what we know he can do for 2 seasons now. I stress though, only if we receive a generous bid.
Crouch will never cement his place in the team so we should let him go and invest the money in a striker who will force their way in. Yes Crouch gives us different options up front but there is no point having a player at the club just for a different option when we need a goal.
Kuyt just stays in my book, he scored plenty CL goals but f**k all premiership goals, only 3 come to mind. He does work hard and wins a lot of ball for the team so he deserves another season but I think we can all admit that he is not a viable long-term option for the wing.

Well thats my 2 cents, haven't been on this since before the chelsea game so I needed a good rant! Grin

1. What are the rumours?

2. He is a brilliant defender, he has been brilliant since we bought him, great reader of the game and is only going to get better.
Definatley not a player we need to get rid of.

maybe a bit hasty asking him to go.....but he needs competition, and he needs extra training like how to not flap at crosses and how to cover your near post......  he is good at pens....but in reallity your goaly is your most important player.... and if he proves unrealiable you should invest heavily in getting the VERY best in
