This is the first team we've played that has left me going "who"

Maybe nemeth will get a good run out now though

Cant wait to see us playing again. I hope pacheco is in the squad this time though.

And I would like to see Nemeth get a bit more playing time, he did excellently in the Rangers game and had a big part in two of the goals.

they are a norweigen team- all I can remember about them is that I think they knocked chelski out of the uefa cup a few years ago in what was one of the most dullest games I have evr seen- I could just be imagining that tho

They have a great winger who I forget his name right now but he is a good young lad. Other than that, shithouse!

We'll be fielding a squad similar to the Rangers game and make plenty of changes at the half.

Personally for the first and second halves I'd play this:

                         Cavalieri

Arbeloa       Skrtel          Agger        Dossena

Benny        Gerrard         Plessis           Leto

                  Torres      Keane

THEN:

                          Reina

Darby      Carragher       Hyypia      Insua

Pennant    Spearing       Alonso      Leto

                Nemeth       Ngog

Very similar to the Rangers team but I think we need more gelling with these players. This crop is the one that will lead us to the title minus probably Spearing, Leto, Nemeth and Insua to some extent.

Valerenga Fotball is a Norwegian football club from Oslo, founded in 1913, named after the nearby neighbourhood of Valerenga. They finished 7th in the 2007 Norwegian Premier League.

dont sound to hard if they finished 7th in a league like theirs the only half decent teami in their league is rosenbourg

And what is that supposed to mean??!! Wink

(Rosenborg is actually one point below Vålerenga in the league at the moment...... Not that it worries me...yet Wink)

The norwegian league is just halfway into the season, as they play from march to november. They are one of two teams in the capital Oslo, and I guess they are the "red" team of the two.
Several in their squad are regulars on the norwegian national team, and some of them can, tho I dont believe they will, be a threat are in defense, Storbæk and André Muri, midfield Lars Iver Strand (I wanted him so bad in Rosenborg!!) and then a few strikers, Bengt Sæternes and Freddy Dos Santos... This are nothing fact like, just my personal ratings..

Vålerenga has been very up and down so far this season, so it could be a bit of an exiting match and at the same time it doesnt have to be and it will just end up with a Besiktas like result..

Their captain by the way also got that role on our national team, and hes a total c**t. Important to know Wink

It think 6-0 --> 1 keane, 2 torres, 1 gerrard, 1 benayoun, 1 between ngog, nemeth or pacheco he ever plays scores.
It think from this thread they are v.bad. come on REDS.

As Watt says, they are in the middle of their season, they drew 1-1 with the team who are currently 2nd on Saturday and they are lying mid-table.

If nothing else it should be another good physical outing.

Yeh he's gone with the Dutch squad.

Hopefully see a few more goals. Everytime I say that mind it ends up something like 0-0 or 1-0. Hopefully see Nemeth play up top with Keane or Torres for 45 minutes. Although against Lazio I think we should play as we would in our first game at Sunderland.

I'd like to see them play 4-3-3 with Reina Darby Agger Carragher Dossena -(darby and dossena attacking the flanks) Gerrard Plessis Alonso (plessis holding, xabi in a more attacking role, gerrard as usual menace) Nemeth Keane Torres ( nemeth and keane either side of torres)

N'gog, benayoun, pennant(shop window) pacheco, arbeloa, voronin (shop window) to come on between 45-75 mins

I think reina should start this game and come off in the 2nd half because he is going to be our number 1 next season and we have the champions league game very soon and seeing as he hardly played for spain he needs the pre season run out

SKRTEL RULED OUT OF VALERENGA CLASH
Paul Eaton 05 August 2008 from lfc.tv

Liverpool will be without Martin Skrtel for this evening's friendly against Valerenga in Oslo.
The Slovakian central defender picked up a slight groin strain during Saturday's victory over Rangers and hasn't travelled with the squad to Norway for their penultimate pre-season clash.

Skrtel is also likely to miss Friday's game against Lazio at Anfield but should be available for the first leg of the Champions League qualifier against Standard Liege next week.

That bad news for us 'cos now only cb replacement is hyypia. And if he is available for the champions league, he will not play 'cos of his fitness level.

KEANE AND TORRES FACE VALERENGA
Paul Hassall 05 August 2008
Fernando Torres will once again partner Robbie Keane in attack as Liverpool take on Valerenga in Oslo tonight.
The Spanish hot-shot starts alongside the Irish international for only the second ever time after both impressed in the 4-0 win over Rangers on Saturday.

Diego Cavalieri is once again given the nod between the sticks while there are also places for Alvaro Arbeloa and Xabi Alonso.

Liverpool team: Cavalieri, Dossena, Agger, Keane, Gerrard, Torres, Alonso, Benayoun, Arbeloa, Kuyt, Carragher. Subs: Reina, Plessis, Darby, Nemeth, Pacheco, Spearing, El Zhar, Insua, Ngog, Hyypia.
