SSN REPORT

Utrecht have struck a deal with Liverpool to take promising striker Jordy Brouwer on a season-long loan.

The 20-year-old is yet to break through into the Reds' first team after joining from Ajax's academy in January 2007.

Brouwer is a regular in Liverpool's reserve side, although he is now set to garner experience in the Eredivisie.

Not for sale
Utrecht are reportedly keen to have the option of buying Brouwer permanently in the deal, but the Reds are against selling.

Brouwer could well have the option of a second destination with ADO Den Haag also enquiring about his availability.

In what could turn into a double deal for Utrecht, the club have also agreed a deal with Real Sociedad for Morten Skoubo.

"He wants to come here," said technical director Piet Buter. "He is looking forward to playing for an attack-minded team."

I have to admit, I dont think hes up too much

I think the move will do him the world of good as for me hes a good bit away from being ready for the first team. Hopefully he plays regulrly as dutch football is a good standard and would bring him on big time

He has the talent, he is just incredibly lazy. If he'd made the effort I feel he could have been knocking on the door of the first team already.

Much like Leto I don't expect him to be playing for the Liverpool first team after his loan deal is done. I was never really that impressed with him in the reserves.

I think he's good and agree that he looks lazy at times. Cant doubt his ability to get on the scoresheet though he scores quite a few for the reserves. I hope this go's well for him and works out in his favour.

So who will be the new reserve strike partnership ? It was mainly Nemeth and Brouwer last season who will take Brouwers place.

I can't stand this player. Yeah he's good but he doesn't make the most of his talent.

I think nemeth and pacheco are better and if im honest I cant even see brouwer breaking into the pre-season team let alone the 1st team in competative games, altough utrecht might do him the world of good!

A new lad hascome in too so it may be Pacheco, Nemeth and that lad.

Brouwer though, dont expect much from him TBH. You cant excell in this league if you support in attack but just walk about when they have the ball, and even when the lads attack he is wandering about out side the box. I hope he gets a boot up the arse in Holland and can get that part to his game solely for his careers sake.

That's right Neil.  Their season doesn't start till next Saturday.

Maybe he was just having a weekend at 'home'.

Yeah he isnt going there, they said they feels he's a good player but doesnt suit their system.

Utrecht chief: Liverpool's Brouwer not for us

FC Utrecht have decided against taking Liverpool striker Jordy Brouwer on-loan.

Utrecht technical director Piet Buter explained: "He is a very good footballer, but not the right type for our team.

"We see and we know that he is a good player, but his type of game does not fit well with ours."

Interesting. Is there something FC Utrecht have found out that's made them change their mind?

Best way for Brouwer to react to this is to make sure he improves on most of last seasons performances and try bang in more goals for the reserves this season.
