My team would be (after 1991)

GK) Reina – Great goalkeeper and doesn’t have too much competition in recent years.

RB) Babbel – close call between him and Finnan but with Markus’ goals I’d take him.

LB) Carragher – haven’t really been blessed with top quality left backs in recent years so I’m gonna shift Carra out there because we have enough quality at centre back.

CB) Hyypia – 10 years service and only a handful of bad games, a must for me.

CB) Wright – I thought Mark Wright constantly shone in what was a very bad defensive unit during the 90s and I think if he was in today’s side, he’d be considered as one of our best.

RM) Gerrard – I want Macca on the right but I can’t think of a better left winger than Macca so Stevie has to play out on the right.

LM) McManaman – best winger I’ve ever seen live in a Liverpool shirt and on his day was one of the best wingers in world football.

CM) Redknapp – at his best in the mid to late 90s he was top notch. Injuries hit him later on but at the time he was a legend in the making.

CM) Hamann – with Redders spreading the play we’re gonna need someone to break it up and there’s no better at doing that than Didi.

ST) Fowler – no Liverpool side after the 1990 can leave out God. He was and still is the best forward I’ve seen play for Liverpool.

ST) Torres – would be Michael Owen but El Nino has that bit more to his game, but it’s a close call.

Bench: Westerveld, Finnan, Agger, Arbeloa, Owen, Riise, Alonso.

obviously a few of us have better quality of player to watch and can include some more of the greatest names in our history. Us youngsters have some real quality to choose from as well though.

Too many good players to select only 11 over a 60 year period, but I was so proud to be a RED in 1965 when the lads brought the F.A.CUP home for the first time/

Well my memory wouldnt be great pre 86 so Ill start from there

Reina (and getting better all the time) sorry Brucie

Rob Jones (quality right back injury robbed us of him before his peak)

Hansen (no words needed)

Carra (again no words needed)

? Left back is causing me problems so Steve Nicol can be moved in here quality little player

McManaman (love him or hate him he was a genius with the ball)

Molby (Ran games from midfield)

Gerrard (Maybe our best midfielder ever?)

Barnes ( Best winger club ever had)

Rush (best finisher club ever had)

Fowler ( close to Rush as best finisher)

Left out Kenny cos I picked from 86 on he was just finishing then. Close calls for Redknapp Aldo Sami and Beardsley

you're moaning at sombody including Ruddock and then you go and put Steve McMahon on the right wing and Rob Jones at left back? Or is it Steve McMahon on the left wing with John Barnes on the right wing? Sorry mate but if you're gonna give somebody flack about picking a player at least sort your own side out first. You've got players out of position entirely, at least the person who picked Ruddock had him at centre half, his natural position.

Just had a random discussion at work about your all time XI for the team you support - in the era you grew up in....

so I grew up in the "spice boy" era - I'm only 25, so a relitively young supporter...

I thought I'd like to see what you all grew up with and if there are any similarities in our line ups....

so its from when you started to follow the reds - up til the modern day

11 players - any formation - 5 subs and a manager of the team

you can also include reasons for their selection

GK - Reina - best keeper we have had in donkeys years, solid, reliable and lfc through and through
RB- Arbeloa- I seriously rated this chap - quality player - and loved to celebrate goals!! Smiley
CB- Hyypia - Best £2.5m we have ever spent on a defender - absolute class
CB- Carra - he's a liverpool man, and would bleed for the club
LB- Riise - quality striker of the ball and just an all round great player
RW- McManaman - skillful, great dribbler, but couldnt shoot for sh*t
CM- Alonso - best passer of the ball in the game - shame we lost him
CM- Gerrard - he is the modern day Mr. Liverpool
LM- Berger - may be out of position but what an underrated player
CF- Torres - best we have had since God
CF-Fowler - Best Striker liverpool have had since Rush

Subs:
GK-Dudek - won the champions league - says it all really
DF-Agger- great potential in this lad
MF- McAllister- great free signing, won us the uefa cup in 2001
MF- Hamann - quality quality player
FW-Baros- worked hard off the ball, qas a good player in 2005

Manager : Mr R Benitez - best coach in europe!

I can't really be bother leaving reasons, but here's my XI:

Since I'm only 15 I haven't seen too many different eras, so there is a considerably less amount of players I can choose from.

My team selection is actually quite similar to yours. ^^

GK - Pepe Reina
LB - John Arne Riise
RB - Markus Babbel
CB - Sami Hyypia
CB - Jamie Carragher
LM - Patrick Berger
RM - Luis Garcia
CM - Steven Gerrard
CM - Dietmar Hamann
CF - Fernando Torres
CF - God Fowler

Subs:
GK - Jerzy Dudek
DF - Steve Finnan
DF - Daniel Agger
MF - Danny Murphy
MF - Xabi Alonso
MF - Javier Mascherano
ST - Michael Judas
