Not a great deal in the beta.
Plenty of customisation for your character available although limited to what clobber you can get. I'd imagine when the in-game items are available it will increase.
You can change the wallpaper in your apartment and put a few new items in there but again not a great range yet. Can't put pictures on your walls yet and appliances etc.
The shopping centre is open but nothing in the shops yet.
Some trailers on at the cinema, the bowling and the pool games are both good, as are the Arcade games.
It's not actually massively busy in the PS Home universe. Not choker. The pictures probably prove that. The graphics are excellent - the movement is excellent. When you go somewhere new you have to download it the first time (eg. the theatre). After that there is a short delay while it is loaded as you move from place to place.
I never used voice chat but some people had it on and it was actually very clear. You can choose to mute people if you need to.
All in all very good. I very much doubt the December 15th-30th full release date just because things like the shops don't have any items in yet.
Very impressive moving around the square though and they're being running game trailers and stuff on the big screen. A mic or a keyboard would be a big help for this.
From what I gather invites are going out every 2 hours. I got my PS3 on launch day and I wasn't in the first raft of invites so I don't think it goes on that. I had registered for the beta ages ago but again, I'm not sure it's due to that either. I'd imagine everyone will get their invite at some stage in the next few days or week.
Thumbs up from me. It certainly seems like the servers are coping - no lag or anything like that. I'd expect they will start adding more items shortly.
