Can the Liverpool team be all-English?

Yes the best of english players that can compete on the home front and europe . do we have that young talent in england that can make us the most feared apponents . lets hear it from u guys

No. We can't make a team of just English players and be the most feared oppoments. We just can't.

They would most probably have to be British players and then I think you may struggle to find a team that may gel as a unit.
You would have to go back to the 50s,60s,70sand80s to find that stregnth and depth especialy in todays game.
Todays game is all about finanance and what a club can achieve as you can see most managers have a noose around thier neck and just to opt for English players to me is a no no they just can't do it,money is the key....SORRY ITS NOT GONNA HAPPEN....

Not without paying over the odds.  English players, good or otherwise seem to cost far more than their European counterparts.

As the pathetic displays of the England team demonstrate I firmly believe Liverpool would wipe the floor with the national side.

Couple that to the fact that English players are overpriced.  We could probably, I don't know, build a new stadium with the money it would cost to make our side all-English.

Last but not least.  We're not English - we are Scouse.

We would of had Crouch and Owen up front if we needed or wanted an all english side.

At this stage of football, it's impossible to not have foreigners in the team.
And with an all English team, we'd just fail, just like England have shown

Don't know why were concerned with English players, apart from Steven are there any other good English players out there.

Spanish players are the way forward

I'm not overly concerned that we have plenty of English players but the fact we have two local lads in Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher (and arguably two of our best players at that) is good for the local identity of the club.

I'm sure there are not too many big European sides where a couple of their best players, captain and vice captain are from within the local area.

my claim in an earlier post,the point being that the standard set by the present team would take some matching by any team let alone a scratch "all English" squad.

In the 16 man squad I picked I think 6 are scouse and 2 more from the wirral thats not bad really
