Herita Ilunga To Replace Andrea Dossena At Liverpool?

Rafa Benitez is eyeing a move for the full-back currently on-loan at West Ham...

According to a report in the British tabloid The Daily Mirror, Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has identified Herita Ilunga as the man to solve his left-back problem.

The 26-year-old is currently on loan at West Ham United from French club Toulouse for the rest of the season, although the Hammers have the option to make the deal permanent for a fee of €3.3 million.

However, the Reds have apparently been in contact with le Téfécé to see whether there is any chance that they can come to any agreement that would take the Congolese international to Anfield.

The left-back made headlines last month when he reportedly branded West Ham a 'second-rate club' and said he wanted to use his time at Upton Park to showcase his talents and move on to a bigger side, although it was later confirmed that he had been misquoted.

The news may signal the end of Andrea Dossena's time with Liverpool, as he has failed to impress manager Rafael Benitez since moving to Anfield from Italian club Udinese for €7.8 million in the summer.

more realistic signing for next season. been following west ham games, this guy has a lot to offer.
      opinion?  :)

I didnt watch many West Ham games this season to be honest, but from the little Ive seen, I liked him a lot. I remember asking a friend 'who is that left back?' during a game cause he was doing a great job.

Theres people much more able than me to talk about him though.

Anyone remember his performance at Anfield this season?

His idea of defending was to try and stop every cross with his arm, leave well alone

I agree I have never seen one player commit so many handballs in one game.

Leave him where he is we dont need him more media jibe.

He's worse than Gael Clichy when it comes to handling the ball.

Now I know who we're talking about. If he played for us they would actually call the handball instead of let the first few go like they did at Anfield.

Not really worth the money is it considering when Insua gets back the youngster will be straight back into the team. Save it for a right back instead.
