Liverpool vs Manchester City - Pre-match

Another important game for us to win. Heck, all the last 13 games are important. Would be a little difficult with Stevie out and Xabi suspended for this. Not sure who'd be the creative one to start attacks from the centre :( . Really not sure whether Lucas should start or not.

My formation for this would be(assuming everyone is fit)

      -----------------------------------------Reina-------------------------------------------------

      Arbeloa------------------Skrtel----------------------Carragher-------------------Insua

      Kuyt---------------Mascherano---------------Aurelio/Agger---------------------Riera

      -----------------------------------------Benayoun---------------------------------------------

      -------------------------------------------Torres-------------------------------------------------

I guess our most creative attacking player to supply to Fernando would be Benayoun.

Blimey Ad, you're on the ball - still a week to go!

Still, gives us something to look forward to football-wise, eh?

Reckon your lineup may be right mate, I'd like Benayoun to start again.

I would like to see three at the back again:

                                  Reina

                    Carra       Skrtel      Agger

             Babel    Masch      Aurelio     Riera

                     Kuyt              Benayoun

                              Torres

I know this ain't gonna happen, but this is our best attacking side - minus Gerrard and Xabi; and we need to get our goal-difference up because it could all come down to that at the end of the season.

                                        Mascherano

                                            Torres

City are in all sorts, there for the taking so hopefully we can do 'em one.

Well this game is a week away and personally I am dreading this break. Last time we had such a long break after the thrashing of Newcastle we went on a long winless run, however that was all without Fernando. I think we will do it tough without Stevie and Xabi and I am not sure how we will line up in the middle. I am certain that Lucas will start this and Aurelio will be shifted to the left, dont see Insua being thrown in just like that. I think we will see Benayoun behinnd Torres, with Lucas and Masch in the middle and Kuyt and Riera on the wings. Its a must win game and we are at home for this one, City are pretty sh*t at the moment and I would not be surprised if Hughes is not in chanrge by the time we play this match.

It is a bit early to predict the line up but a repeat of last season will do when we won 1-0 thanks to a Torres goal.It would be good for the old heart to have a bigger margin and help Mark Hughes on to the dole queue.

thats the team im going for in fantasy rafa! except Aurellio at left back. don't think rafa will risk 3 at back against a good attacking team like city!

My prediction is that we will either beat them comfortably or it will exactly like the reverse fixture.
City play either very well or very poorly.
For example, they lost 2-0 to Pompey last game.

This is a must win game and I'm really looking forward to this one.  With injuries and suspensions forcing the team changes it will be interesting to see what Rafa's selection is.  Not sure if Lucas is still suspended but I don't really want to see him in the squad whether he's available or not.  Not happy with Dossena's performances of late either so think Arbeloa should maybe fill the left back hole, I believe he played out there for Spain mid-week.
The team I would like to see:

      -----------------------------------------Reina-------------------------------------------------

      Carragher------------------Skrtel----------Agger-------------------------------Arbeloa

      Kuyt---------------Mascherano---------------Aurelio---------------------Riera

      -----------------------------------------Benayoun---------------------------------------------

      -------------------------------------------Torres-------------------------------------------------

Carra in the middle at the back and Agger in CM as i think carra's most effective in the center, would like to see Aurelio get forward a bit and Kuyt push up a more so he has more goal scoring opportunities. Benayoun's done alright for us recently so with Gerrard and Alonso out hes got time to prove that hes a valuable asset to the team. Form city have been in recently will be bitterly disapointed with anything but a win. Team i'd like to see:

      ........................ ................Reina... ........................ ..........
      Aurelio................. ..Carra................. ....Skrtel.............. Arbeloa
      Kuyt.................... Masch................... ..Agger...............Ri era.....
      ........................ ...............Benayoun. ........................ ........
      ........................ .............Torres..... ........................ ........

                                    Pepe

                      Carra                       Skrtel
                                   Agger
      Arby                                                         Riera
                Yossi            Masch          Aurelio

                              Kyut     Torres

City really are there for the taking; being so poor away from home. I believe this line-up would  give us a lot of flexibility with both attacking options and defensive quality in abundance.

City are sh*te away from home, so three points are there for the taking with ease. However Shay Given is a good keeper and a huge improvement on Joe Hart so it's going to be slightly more difficult nowadays.
