      Pure coincidence or signs ?
      Mar 19, 2009 08:37:38 am
This really kinda freaks me out to be honest.

I remember when Chelsea won the league in 1955, they did the double over Liverpool. When they first won a Premier League title in 2004/2005 season, they did the double over us again for the first time after 50 years.

Not only that - Compare 1978,1981 and 2005

      1978
      - Wales won the Grand Slam title.
      - Pope passed away.
      - Liverpool also won the European Cup.

      1981
      - Prince Charles got married.
      - Ken and Deirdre marry on the street.
      - A new Dr Who is appointed.
      - Crystal Palace and Norwich City got relegated.
      - Liverpool won 17 games that season and finished 5th.
      - Liverpool were crowned Kings of Europe.

      2005
      - Wales won the Grand Slam title.
      - Pope passed away.
      - Prince Charles got married.
      - Ken and Deirdre marry on the street.
      - A new Dr Who is appointed.
      - Crystal Palace and Norwich City were relegated again.
      - Liverpool won 17 games that season and finished 5th again.
      - Liverpool were crowned Kings of Europe for the 5th time.
~ what was amazing is that we were losing 3-0 at half time and many thought it would be the most one sided final ever but it wasn't. Comes to make me think that we'd catch up even if we were 10-nil down at half time.

The first time we won it, the date of the final was 25th of May and it was 25th of May again in 2005. I think in every year we won it, we wore our traditional Red kit while our opponents wore White. (except for the 2007 final in Athens).

      Had enough? Guess not.

Think we will win the title this year? Even if the table shows otherwise.
      1. Arsenal were 12 points behind United in 1998. They beat the Mancs at Old Trafford on the 14th of March 1998 and went on to claim their first Premier League title.
      2. We beat United on the 14th of March 2009 at Old Trafford and will we win our FIRST title?
      3. The last time we won the title, we did the double over Chelsea and we did it against them this year again.
      4. The last time we beat Man United at Old Trafford wearing grey was in 1990 which was also the last time we won the League title.
      5. Last title - 1990. Add each digit > 1+9+9+0 = 19 < Our 19th title?
      6. The date we beat the defending champions and our rivals,Man United was 14/03/2009. Add each digit > 1+4+0+3+2+0+0+9 = 19.
      7. The last time we won the league, we drew 10 games and lost to Tottenham Hotspur away. (But we played more than 40 games) < so, will we be winning all our 9 games left?
      8. It's also 19 years since we last won it.

I did some research on this one and boy, I like the way it's getting at.
Now, don't you think if had worked for 2005, that it would work again?
And the table looks like the title is going to Manchester..... but don't we win our trophies in style?

Very encouraging. Part of you dismisses it as coincidence but another part of you wants to believe it. We'll see eh! :)

I'm well confused here Ad. Where are the coincidences with this year's European Cup?

I know Wales can't win the Grand Slam.

Crystal Palace and Norwich City won't be relegated.

Can't see Prince Charles getting hitched.

I hope Liverpool win more than the 17 games we're already on.

I don't watch Corrie - are Ken & Deirdre getting married?

So it's down to a new Dr.Who and the Pope to die and the trophy's ours? CLASS! :lmao:

That's a great post Ad, masterful.

Just that it seems that certain things have to happen for us to win, but who cares I we win this season.

I'm sure no one will give a tit, how it happens, so long as it happens.

If (when ;)) we win the league, this post will be printed out and framed up on my wall, heh.

Otherwise, good job with the research. 19th trophy after 19 years? Let's hope so.

Well i dont get the whole point on comparing the 3 years. But what i do get is the part whereby the concidence of all sorts that we will get our 19th trophy. Hope we really do.

Just shows that what happened in 1978 and 1981 had happened again in 2005. So, it's allright to say that history repeated itself.
Things happened in 1990 and there are signs in 2009 which makes us believe that number 19 is coming even though the table say otherwise.

After all, don't we win all our trophies in style?

Who cares the main thing is that we believe we can do it and if you can justify it by the thought of Ken and Dreary's wedding night fair play. We all have our superstitions as long as we win and we can do then get the Ouija board out if that's what it takes.

Yeah, true. The players showed their faith against Man U, we've just got to get behind them so they keep that form until the end of the season!
