Martin Skrtel, horrible and Fabio not far behind. That was defending of Bramble proportions.

Our shooting was terrible. Should have had 4.

We seemed like a team that had just met each other for the first time, our marking on corners was awful and I am gutted because Drogba could of made this 5-1. I hope this was just a one time thing and just a funk. It will be hard to get back in this tie, but we can do it

It's not impossible to win at SB but it's gonna very very difficult.

Started out well but Chelsea were the better team.

Masch was key to the midfield battle, Xabi looked lost without him which affected Steven.

Our passing was as bad as it gets in stages of that much. Complacency was evident to the enth degree.

Our passion in the second leg will have to improve ten fold to overcome the Blues, they will be fired up. Insua not in the squad will hurt but Agger to come in for Martin against Blackburn because that performance deserved to get him benched. Carra improved alot, showed heart. Fabio just went downhill.

13 shots, 4 on target to 18 shots, 9 on target to Chelsea. Woeful.

That was the worst performance i've seen from a Liverpool team at Anfield in years, to me it shows how good Mascherano is, Lucas was lost tonight we were completely overrun in midfield barring Alonso the midfield was poor, our defence was awful Skertel and Aureilo were terrible, what was the story with Dossena when he came on he first touch is a disgrace for a professional footballer, hopefully it was a once off and we can still challenge for the league.

Oh well. Can't win 'em all.

Have to hope for some good play in the second leg, but I'd rather Liverpool focused on the title.

This may sound silly but i can see us going through still,
bad result though, and very poor performance.

      It can only get better,
Chelsea think they have done it, but we always play better when we are behind
Well done Chelsea manager though, his tactics were spot on, it can only get better
come on reds fans cheer up, its still gonna happen

We'll just need to go at them at 100 m/ph, not let them control the tempo of the match.

Not denying it's a mountain to climb, but we've shown lately we can knock 3,4 or 5 goals past teams, so anythings possible.

We've got nothing to lose now, I want to see Rafa go for it in the second leg, Agger, Carragher, Skrtel in central defence. Mascherano in defensive midfield, Alonso playing ahead of him, Reira and Kuyt on the wings, Benayoun and Gerrard behind Torres.

Looking at Chelsea and how they're reacting I can't wait for the oppertunity for them to give us the chance to F***ing stuff them. They think its over, its a long shot, but we've been in worse situations before. We've got absolutely nothing to F***ing lose, I want to see us taking the game to them and taking the F***ing smirk off their face. Nothing to lose.

I predicted 3-1, just got it the wrong way round :D

I think we can still win this, they have no Terry and it only takes a second to score a goal and to be honest the rollocking they are going to get from Rafa i think will kick them into gear and the fact that the fans were still singing at the end will give them belief that its not over.

After all who would have thought they would have got 3 at Anfield so we can easily do it at the Bridge.

Well we've made F***ing hard work for ourselves.

Of course it's still possible, but to progress we are going to have perform 10 times better than that. When we scored I thought we were going to put in another blinding performance but it just slipped.

sh*t result, but heads up lads, next game on Saturday.

      Best line up

      Arbeloa Carragher Skrtel Aurelio

       Benayoun Gerrard Alonso Riera

      Key: Babel, Dossena Lucas

Our midfield was not up to it! Lucas had no business in the midfield. We need to go to Stamford Bridge and do to Chelsea what we did to Man U & Villa & Madrid

That was odd, seeing both Benayoun and Kuyt on the same side, i guess they tried to put everyone on offense and leave out defense.

The defending was horrendous and Skrtel, Carra and Aurelio were equally as bad.  Just a bad day at the office I reckon, it happens unfortunately.  But credit to Chelsea though.  Can't believe I said that :(

For me, Chelsea wouldn't have had as many attacks if Masch was able to play.  Lucas was fairly useless and along with Alonso didn't have much impact on the game!!!

Absolutely gutted right now!!!  But if any team can come back from this deficit, it's us :)

      So did the players mate.

IMO, that dispossession of Aurelio was our downfall in the first half. He coughed it up and it went downhill from there. Martin did it the most but Aurelio's started it i feel.

What score does we need to get over them?

All the defence were f***in sh*t except for arby (MOTM for me). And the midfield lost possession easily.

      But now Sing with me:
