Well that's another 4-0 then - I thought we put in a solid attacking display even if we were a bit sloppy at times.

Now a result like that at Stamford Bridge would be very welcome.

Fantastic perfomance, kept going right until the end and 4-0 was thoroughly deserved.

Torres and Agger goals were beauty's!

Certainly dominated the entire match.

Could have had more goals, but 4 isn't bad going I suppose. Wink

Cant believe I missed the whole game, gutted. Missed the pre-match memorial, the game, the reaction, but 3 points and I'm delighted.

Where's remad?

I heard the goals were good so I look forward to watching them.

Now time to focus on the Champions League and I want this exact same scoreline on Tuesday. Grin

To be honest I could have picked 11 from the forum that could have beaten Blackburn. Easy. aaliverpool2xt1

Shocking stuff that!

Complete and utter walkover that game.

Kuyt could have had three, Mascherano should have scored a couple.  But let's not pick on these little things.  Top scorers in the league, and if anybody would care to find out the last time we had 70 points after 32 games I'll wager it was a long, long, long time ago.

Make no mistake. This season, even if we don't land the title (which we will), our performance is going to put many LFC title winning season's to shame.

I can't remember who I was talking about our defence with, but I pointed out that you look at Carra and Skrtel - ability to score goals = zero.  You look at Agger and Hyypia, and you'd fancy either of them to throw in a goal every now and then.

It would be a real shame to lose Agger, and I think he's just grabbed himself a place in mid-week.

Benayoun did a good job in Gerrard's role as well.

Remember a couple of months ago, everyone was crying about Keane going and where would the goals come from, and how it was a bad decision. Where are those people now?

We've never looked as dangerous under Rafa.  I honestly believe in each game that we are about to hand out a tonking.  Let's hope we do on Tuesday night.

That's exactly what I think.

Let's face it, Blackburn set out for a 0-0 today, really puts it into perspective doesn't it.

I knew one of Agger's shots would eventually enter. Out of all our centre backs, I put my bet on this lad to score a scorcher or even a goal.
Yes, Torres and Kuyt could have bagged a hat trick eached, Mascherano, Benayoun, El Zhar to score one at least but the 3 points are the most important.
Torres' first goal and Agger's goal were class.

Top of the league for a short while but we shall not be moved! Come Black Cats, you can hold/beat them scums.

Now that's what I call an ass-whooping! Talking about having discovered Liverpool FC's underbelly. Why dont you just shoot yourself sam alladyce!!

Good looking out to everyone on the pitch.

Worthy mention: Torres, Insua, Benayoun, Kuyt, Pepe, Agger, Carra, Arby, Riera, Monster-Masch, Alonso, Ngog & El Zhar

Positives from today's Liverpool game:

Insua - another excellent performance.  I have absolutely no concerns about him playing for us.
Agger - good disciplined display.  Goal reminds us all of his abilities
Reina - 200 appearances for Liverpool up, and another clean sheet
Torres - back finding the net again. 1 midweek, 2 today, 3 next game?
Lucas - wish N'Gog hadn't got to that ball at the end.
Benayoun - impressive covering for Gerrard

Disappointing

Kuyt - I know he works hard, as he should for x thousands of pounds a week, but still far too wasteful in front of goal. No killer instinct, which could cost us.

Didn't see the game but 3 pts are sweet. So ManU will have some more pressure, that's all what our boys can & should do worry about. I say: Don't bring Gerrard, Torres & Co. on the second leg vs. Chelsea...we need all f**king energy and manpower in the league now. DROP CL, Rafa!

Missed this game completely, in work until now. Guess I'll have to wait for MotD tonight. Did here a bit on the radio, and Alan Green dd coment that we do not get any/enough credit for the amount of Goals we have scored so far this season.

Great performance. Should have been more, Masch should have got a couple, Torres should have at least a hat-trick, Kuyt should have scored (how many times we said that? Wink), Insua was brilliant, Riera was much better.

We ran the game, Masch and Alonso were boss in midfield, The whole back 4 were brilliant.

Peach of a goal from Agger and Torres.

« Reply #25 on: April 11, 2009, 02:19:16 PM »

Kuyt and Riera were the draw backs for me. You'd hope that these two players would have flourished given the space allowed from Blackburn. But the final ball or decision from them in the second half was below standard. Come on lads, you can do better!!

That's the only disappointing thing for me though.

Let's face it. That was a really really poor Blackburn today. And maybe it was just too easy for us in the second half which made it a bit dour and us not having a shot on target until late on. Maybe there was just too many easy decisions for us to make.

But give me a choice between a game like that where we absolutely boss it and bang four goals in or a game where we can't create anything and don't get near the goal. I know which one I'd pick.

This was a huge game for us today and the attitude from the players after the midweek defeat was second to non.

I'm absolutely over the moon we won and got those vital three points! We know it's what we've got to keep on doing so long may it continue.
