All too easy. Never broke a sweat and I dont recall one clear shot for them.

As good as we were on the ball, Riera showed his consistent inconsistency. Well done boys, fully deserved but how Alonso and Steven didnt score? No idea.

I don't know how they didn't either mate! Just unlucky really.

Still, we won, and that's what was needed. 3-0 was a great result and we are pushing all the way for the title which is just great to see.

Yup. Easy win and we are still fresh. Spearing could be in next week I think.

Can't believe that Masch and Xabi got knocks at this stage.
Get well soon guys.

Great win and could have been more but I ain't complaining. I love the movements in the first half.

If Alonso and Mascherano are both out then I would expect it to be Gerrard and Lucas making up the centre midfield.

Good performance and a well deserved win, yet another 3 points. The crossed bar played a blinder and fully deserves nufc MoM.
Hope Xabi is okay and nothing too serious. YNWA! kop5cf8koxp6

Hope we get a mini heatwave next weekend. So Robinho (scores when its sunny) can wear his samba shoes and run circles around around the Scum in their very own sty.

Should've been heaps more clearly. Very poor finishing for the amount of chances we had.

How long is torres out for, or was Rafa just resting him?

And hopefully nothing is wrong with Alonso or Masch. Even if it is, I think maybe Lucas can get some confidence and find some form for the last few games, and Benayoun and Gerrard can both play Attacking Mid, in place of CDM Masch. Kuyt slots back RM and Torres ST.

Only a few games to go against West Ham, West Brom and Spurs, I think a line up like that could suffice for 3 wins

He's a good player but at these games are too important to test him out in the league.
Gerrard and Lucas looks like a more likely partnership

Good work like performance made a difficult game look easy 3 more points in the bag good result, and for all the people who were worried about Torres not playing, as I said pre-match we have won games without key players simply because we are playing more as a unit.

With Riera, I feel he started today only because Torres is out. Otherwise, a natural choice for a home game should be Kuyt on right and Benayoun on left.

Frankly, with Riera's late performance (probably last 10 games?!), I'd rather put El Zhar + Benayoun on wings than playing him!!

I loved it how after the game they interviewed Shearer and asked him, "you think Barton deserved to be sent off?" and he said without even hesitating "yes", and then asked "are you disappointed with him?" and again without any second thoughts, "yes".

He's a straight talker and I like that but I'm feeling bad for him...

On the bright side, Benayoun scored so I'm happy Smiley

Good game, easy win as expected. Newcastle defense is so poor, they couldnt deal with Kuyt and Yossi and not even stop Alonso and Gerrard long shots. It was 3x0 but could of been 8x0 haha

What was people singing that made Shearer laugh? I didnt understand it!

I can see it!!!
MU will draw with Man City and Hull City, losing to Arsenal! Then we'll win the league by a point provided we win all our games.

The last time a player scored 4 against us in the league, we won the league by a point ahead of MU!!

It looked as if he ran straight to Xabi's legs and didn't even care about the ball, it near the corner flag, not even a goal threat.

It was an unnecessary challenge. If he wanted to show some fighting spirit, he should have done it at the start of the match.

Shearer is all class. Great player in his time. I think his celebration summed him up. Simple one arm raised. He was great, gave it all for his club, but didn't go over the top like some... disrespectful, arrogant players do.... ie. CRISTIANO RONALDO.

I don't think Shearer should feel bad/disappointed or expect alot from himself. He came in to the job with only a handful of games left and has not much of experience as manager. So, I feel bad for him.

Nevertheless, great player and legend during his time. Always remembered using him when I played Fifa 1998, Grin.

Excellent win, we totally dominated in a match that was made all too easy by Newcastle.

They were shabby as hell, slow in midfield and left massive spaces for our players to exploit. There was only ever going to be one winner.

Still, we had to score the goals, and we finished the match before half-time, which was good for the team, we didn't have to make much effort in the second 45 minutes. I thought most of the players put in good performances, without being particularly outstanding.

Gerrard was very good considering he was returning from injury, and I thought Agger was on form too since he signed his contract! Man of the match for me was clearly Alonso, who dominated midfield and could have had two beautiful goals except for the woodwork.

Job done, what pressure there is has been put on United, can't ask more.

Sums it up.

Woodwork made three saves for them, too!

Now Let us do some math.. The max points we can gather when we win the remaining games will take us to 86 points. If manu win the rest of their matches wil  end up with 92 points. So manu has to drop at least 6 points. They should lose twice or draw thrice and win the remaining match. Man city and arsenal can do the damage. Still believe ! !
