There's a great melody in that song.
      Lovely chorus too.

Sucker for a good broken love song.

I'm listening to two albums simultaneously at the moment that couldn't be further apart from each other but I love them both for different reasons.

      10 Songs by Aaron Fyfe.

I was walking through Town a couple of years back late on a Tuesday morning or something like that and heard this amazing busker who was opposite the McDonald's on Lord Street. It was this Glasgow lad. I had to stop for a while and listen before getting his Twitter off him. Very interesting to see him release an album now.

      Campfires: https://youtu.be/D03xtCg_g7o

Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly

An unbelievable album to the hip hop massive. After Good Kid he could easily have kept it all mainstream and simple and some will say he should have. Outside of hip hop circles and hardcore hip hop fans I'm not sure how many new fans he will get from this but for me as an album it is phenomenal even if all of the songs aren't easy on the ear. Lots of Black Power throughout the album as well as funk and deep jazz.

Very big balls to do an album like this. Very risky but I love it.

Kendrick Lamar - The Blacker The Berry: https://youtu.be/6AhXSoKa8xw

Kendrick is boss. I'm not gonna lie, I hadn't heard of him until not long ago, but a friend of mine listened to his album and thought I would like as I am a fan of Tupac's more aggressive songs... and I thought it's amazing. Not something I'll listen to all the time but definitely worth a listen

I love Tupac more than any other rap artist. All Eyez On Me is still my favourite rap album ever and I was listening to it on my way to work just before.

Yep. I put a song on here called Easy Easy a while ago but haven't really followed him since I got his album around that time.

Was this on The Rider last week Si?

I've always been a rock guy so my hip hop / rap listening times are relatively limited but I do appreciate some artists, and among those Tupac is my favorite. Lamar's album reminded me of him and it can only be good

Yep. I put a song on here called Easy Easy a while ago but haven't really followed him since I got his album around that time.

My brother found out about him while listening to random songs on Deezer and loved it. Been telling me to listen to him for ages but I only did so yesterday. Very good album he's released.

Also, is anyone into Jungle? They're from London if I'm not mistaken. Only heard of them the other day as they're coming to Rio in May, I'm now considering if they are worth a go:

Went to a D'Angelo concert a few weeks ago in Amsterdam, one of the best concerts I've been at, felt like a religious experience or something, completely blown away, crowd was going wild, room steaming. He was brilliant, and so was his band. Felt like an honour to have been there. Already really liked his last album, now I love it.

Also really digging Kendrick's last album, also reminded me of Tupac. Nice to hear a popular conscious voice again in hiphop.

What a coincidence! A friend of mine just sent me a link for one of D'Angelo's songs and said I'm going to like it. Will surely listen when I have the chance

They did a whole thing honouring Sting over in the States not so long ago...intro by Meryl Streep with performances from Lady Gaga, Herbie Hancock & a girl whose name I can't remember but is really good, Bruce Springsteen and Bruno Mars. A really good set IMO, but particularly enjoyed this one:

Possibly the greatest version of Stairway to Heaven, and it's a cover.

On the subject of Tupac and Kendrick Lamar. Kendrick's latest album was originally called To Pimp A Caterpillar(Basically Tupac), but changed it To Pimp A Butterfly to give it a more positive spin. Has anyone listened to the end of the last track on the album, Mortal Man? He's literally having a conversation with Tupac, reciting poetry to Tupac. It's pretty awesome.

What a coincidence! A friend of mine just sent me a link for one of D'Angelo's songs and said I'm going to like it. Will surely listen when I have the chance

I think it's a great record. Similar to Kendrick in being socially conscious, and focussing on current race issues. He performed the track The Charade live on SNL, on top of the chalk outline of a human body:

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRCLjK5OWjU#ws

The album is quite raw and diverse. Not an easy listen, but so much to discover and delve deeper into.

F***ing loved Gomez back in the day. Could listen to his voice all day. Think one of the surprising things about them is I didn't expect those voices to come out of them
