      It is what it is I suppose. Their 'progression' (or regression) has been a weird one. A Rush of Blood To The Head was such a mature album for a then very young band. The songwriting on that is immense and utterly beautiful - flawless from start to finish and then you hear the b sides from the singles of that album and they were a band who could do no wrong.

      Viva La Vida with Brian Eno, Jon Hopkins and Markus Dravs was another excellent album that drew on a lot of rock influences but since then it's all been pretty average stuff from that point on. I just don't get how you can go from Mercury nominated albums to collaborating with Avicci and mimicking bubble gum pop. Perhaps their trajectory just mimics the 'juvenelisation' of mainstream pop.

      At least I'll still have songs like this which I still fail to understand how it didn't get onto A Rush Of Blood To The Head!

      I think they have tried to be different but ended up becoming basically a sh*te pop band.
