How in the name of Jesus Christ are they second in the table? They really have got there by boring the opposition to death haven't they?
I went on a mad rant about this to a mate watching the match on Thursday. The league is sh*t this year, everyone is sh*t! So what separates the less sh*t teams from the rest? Goalscorers? Definitely have their say, Vardy proving that and the fact that Aguero is so far ahead of any other striker in the league has helped City massively. But what about the mancs? What about Arsenal? What about Spurs? Are they really that much better than us? No... but they have much better keepers.
A good keeper is the difference in this league. United could have named their price to Madrid in the summer but they knew they were giving up a keeper who will win them points. When Schweinseteiger, Schneiderlin, Fellaini, and Rooney are falling to pieces before him, De Gea has been their most consistent player. He's saved them more times than not, just like Cech, Llloris and Hart have for their clubs.
If/When De Gea goes, unless they have an top quality replacement, they will drop down the table, fast!
