Space Shuttle Atlantis Video

Strapped to the top of a specially designed 747, the space shuttle Atlantis has begun its journey back to Florida.

The orbiter took off from Edward's Air Force Base in California and will make an overnight stop in Texas before arriving at the Kennedy Space Center on Tuesday evening.

Bad weather forced Atlantis to land in California last week after completing a 13-day mission to repair the Hubble Telescope.

I've been to the Kennedy Space Center (as the Americans spell it) it is the most amazing place, awesome.

You know, people make a big scientific nonsense about how the shape of a plane is specially designed to enable it to fly blah blah blah.

I always make a point of telling passengers on planes that they're not 100% sure how planes stay airborne.  For instance, a plane can fly upside down and as that picture shows - a plane can fly with a big fuckoff space shuttle strapped to the back.

I could go on - so I will.

I can't stand flying

I never have nor will I ever be comfortable doing it....yet i fly probably more than anyone here.

It is terrible.

Just get me place A to place B while i pass out from drugs, alcohol, or some other form of medication

It flew into Manchester once............although it was a few years ago
