Did Hendo and Sterling leave the pitch uninjured??

Yep. Phil jones went off with an injury. Clearly Roy's tactics failed somewhere that he was him instead of a Liverpool player.

Soz for being a bit dozy on the subject but do we always play Euro qualifyers so soon after the World cup and early into the prem campaign?

Btw Sterling just stands out by a mile these days, he leaves people in his wake.
Tell you what; didn't expect him to progress how he has this fast, our coaching staff and him learning off Suarez have put his career onto a whole new level.

And all you keep hearing from training is that he stands out above the rest too

4-1-3-2 with Wilshere holding and Raheem at the top of the diamond, Delph and Hendo either side.

Press talking about Hodgson's brave change in tactic paying off. So bravery is copying your superiors...

      Well, that's not laughable!

It's the position where Henderson plays best, same with Delph, same with Sterling and same with Rooney. Only one where he made a big change was Wilshere at DM and that was a poor one.

I thought Welbeck linked up well with Hendo, Sterling & Lambert.

Should be the attacking line up for England. Add Sturridge when he's fit.

4-4-2 diamond worked well, and of course it would because there is a large
contingent of players that ran rampant with that formation last season.

Big call for Hodgson will be Rooney. Welbeck worked better in the system last night.

Ignoring the fact he's out for 6 months....you say it's a mistake to play Wilshere in the holding role and then suggest...Ross Barkley?? Would love to hear the logic behind that one!!

He's not a defensive midfielder. That's like putting Lallana in the defensive midfield position.

Wilshere is probably the closest player to a defensive midfielder we have. Unless we play Henderson there.

      Barkley as a DM.

      Brilliant.

I'd actually have Gareth Barry back in the squad to give the midfield a bit of balance.

      Barry

      Henderson  Wilshere

      Welbeck  Sturridge  Sterling

I can see Sturridge being on the bench for next month's games unless there are some injuries actually.

England were outplayed for large parts of that game last night only for the Swiss have no strikers and possible the worst centre back in international football in Johan Djourou they could well have lost. Hilarious how the media are hyping up expectations again for the owl and his team after that shambles of a WC. Hodgson will be found out again come the Euros in two years if he lasts that long.

Decent team. I'd prefer Walcott over Welbeck though. Walcott is back from injury in a couple weeks time.

I can see Sturridge being on the bench for next month's games unless there are some injuries actually.

I wouldn't be complaining. Less games outside a Liverpool shirt would be ideal for us as it'll dramatically reduce his chances of picking up an injury and give him more time to recover for games.

      Welbeck for England!

Hendo should be DM over Wilshire when Barkey is back. Providing all our players are not injured and in form below would be a good 11.

                           Sturridge

               Welbeck  Sterling  Walcott
                                       â†‘
                       Hendo  Barkley
                            ↓
               Baines Cahill  Jones  Walker

                              Hart

Edit: Just adding arrows to make it clear that in no way did I suggest Barkey at DM.
