      Prediction for todays game.

      1. Rooney will come too Deep all game.
      2. Sterling will be heavily marked.
      3. Lack of Pace and Penetration will be glaring.
      4. A sub will come on and England will look a lot better.
      5. We will be bored to death.

I don't support England more than Liverpool. Liverpool winning Europa League would have probably been bigger than England winning Euro to me. It is probably 55% Liverpool 45% England

      Thought so!

      Wool

From Liverpool mate, last time I checked it was in England

Should of just said Scouse Not English ;)

Agreed by the way about the booing and racist sh*t Barnes used to get from the England fans.

That Roy Hodgson 'forced' press conference was a good 8/9 out of 10 in the hilarity stakes.

      What a massive bellend.

I might have to catch that later.

The big problem in the coming months is that the FA have no idea how to recruit the right man for the job. Not sure how true it is but I saw on Twitter before that Southgate is the clear favourite for the job, what the F**k is going on there?! He's as useless as the idiot who just left.

I was listening to Stuart Pearce on TalkSport2 earlier, he made some good points regarding the England set up...

      1. If somebody rejects an invite to play in a tournament for the under-21's or any other age group then they shouldn't be allowed to play for the senior team.

      2. Only Ross Barkley in the entire squad has some sort of medal at international level and that was for the under-17's.

      3. Germany, Spain, Italy etc. all know how to play international tournament football because a majority of their players have continuously done so at a number of age groups.

      4. Those countries mentioned above all play in the exact same way throughout their system.

Each nation has an identity but England don't and for me that's where part of the problem lies. You should be able to call somebody up from the under-21's (in certain circumstances) and tell them to do the same job they were asked to do in that age group.

      5. The same group of players need to play together for a vast majority of games so that when it comes to tournaments they look like a team rather than 11 individuals which is what we've looked like for a number of years. All of this switching players around and picking squads based on a whim is bollocks and gets the team nowhere.

      6. Pick a system and stick to it. The only way players are going to get comfortable is by playing in that system regularly. We took 5 strikers to the Euros yet only started with 1 up top. We took 1 winger yet played with 2 wide men (that winger didn't start 1 or 2 of the games). Talk about being unbalanced!

It was honestly like Woy threw on the 11 highest paid players and said 'off you go'. No tactics, no desire, no clue, no chance.

And he is part of the problem mate.  All of that was supposed to be put in place when Roy took over 4 years ago.

We now have "permanent" youth coaches at England level all through the age groups rather than part time appointments for those below senior level, meaning they are all failed club managers/coaches.  What have any of them won?

The best youth coaches are working at club level yet you know what, in all the youth games I've watched over the last 8 years I've never seen one of the coaches from the England set up watching the lads play.  Oh they turn up when it's the FA Youth Trophy final, some nice cushy hospitality package unfortunately most of the players in the teams who make the final aren't even English!

There's been a lot of our lads selected for England at u16/17 level but they rarely get a game, the coaches prefer to play lads from the lower leagues because they reckon they have a better chance of getting 1st team minutes than the PL lads and because our lads and others from the PL have Club commitments for overseas youth tournys they won't get a look in because they "turn down that invitation".

If they really want to build teams that grow together through the youth set up, they aren't going to do that if they dump them out everytime they're unavailable.

Sorry mate, it winds me up.

As a side note - he's probably going into retirement but my god what an utterly remarkable career in management he's had. Champions League winner, World Cup winner and European Championship winner. An absolute titan who should enjoy his retirement!

Remarkable man indeed. If he leaves Spain, the English FA would be silly not to at least approach him.

Hodgson has left such a pointless vacuous legacy that even Gareth Southgate has apparently ruled himself out of the job, even on an interim job. Nice one Roy. This really is your finest f**k up yet.

Maybe the FA will appoint a special guest manager for each match like they do with presenters on Have I Got News For You. But in the end, despite all the talk and promises of a 'new direction' we all know they're going to appoint this guy...
