      Your First Choice DVD
      Jun 12, 2009 11:03:35 pm
Not much on TV, so I'm going to put my first choice DVD on - my Pulp Fiction Collector's Edition Double DVD. Running time 148 minutes approx including deleted scenes.

      What's your first choice DVD.

Don't all rush to say Istanbul now, will you? ;)

I'll usually go for something that's funny.

      Usually a Jim Carrey movie.

      Mate, Bruce Almighty.

Especially for you and Kenny - one of those things that makes you cry with laughter...

I didn't think I'd ever see the day those two sentenaces were used together. Jim Carey and funny? Not for me.

My first choice DVD? Whatever is on the bottom of the pile because I know that's been the one I watched the furthest back.

What was the embedding disabled bollocks on that post of mine?

Bad news. My Pulp Fiction DVD seems fu**ed, just keeps freezing and F***ing me about. Gutted. It's spotless aswell and not a copy. Invested in it and have only watched it once or twice and now it won't play.

I guess you're right Ross but i find him about as hilarious as getting your Nads caught in your zipper. Nobody can pull faces like Jim.  ::)

Anyhow, back to the question; it would have to be a "Comedy" for me too. Usually "The Life Of Brian" or "Dogma".

I can't say I really have a first choice, it changes over time for me.

When I was younger I'd say it was any of the Monty Python films, since then Alien/Aliens, Blade Runner, Withnail & I, Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Taxi Driver, One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest, Platoon, Saving Private Ryan, The Usual Suspects, Heat and Scarface have all been first choice. :D

      Both really, really excellent films.

Usual Suspects is one of my favourite ever films, some great actors in it performing out of their skin. Lash it on ASAP!

The last photo is Benicio del Toro being grilled by the cops, fantastic scene and a great character.

And Gilberto Silva always reminded me of Benicio del Toro.

Ayrton - what a film. I needed my dad to explain certain parts but it really was brilliant, what an ending!

Also a fact for you - Pete Postlethwaite's niece taught me for a year in primary school :D.

Oh I know what you mean Ross. But for best lines from a first choice DVD, it's got to be 'Red dress, strappy shoes' and 'I'll see you in another life, when we are both cats' from Vanilla Sky - also a first choice DVD of mine! (Or is that a whole other thread that already exists?)

I love epic films. I ususally go for The Lord Of The Rings, special extended edition trilogy boxset, 654 minutes and 12 discs! (I think nerd is an understatement :P). Or Gladiator.

The Godfather or James Bond are played quite frequently.

John Cusack, Dan Ackroyd are F***ing class in this film.
