      Caught the 1975 in Glasto... wish I hadn't.  >:D

F**k me, went to see them few weeks back at Manchester. Walked out after half an hour. Awful, awful awful. Worst band I've ever witnessed and I've been to see Westlife.

      Westlife are far superior.

Thinking of going Roskilde in Denmark in the Summer. Arctics main headline.

Already got tix for the Pixies/Arcade Fire at Marlay park mate - couldn't miss it.

I'll be gutted if I miss this one but just don't have the money right now.

I can only hope it doesn't sell out for a while yet.

Hmm... Arctic Monkeys & Jake Bugg Versus Arcade Fire & Pixies?

Not even a tough one; each to their own mate but if you're open to advice from an aul fart - Wise the F**k up.  ;D

Sunday vs. Saturday & the need to take days off work etc affect a good few of my decision. Can only do weekends if the gig is in Galway. I can suffer in work easy enough, but travelling 3 hours up & down is tough with work hours.

I'll still have time to see Arcade Fire anyways, I caught the end of their set at Oxegen a few years ago & they were class alright from what I saw of them.

F**k me, went to see them few weeks back at Manchester. Walked out after half an hour. Awful, awful awful

Ha definitely not getting good reviews then! Luckily the tickets were cheap.

Got tickets for a uni ball here, which has Wilkinson playing. He only has the one song but would be interesting to see how he is. Dear tho, but needed to go to someone like that after missing out on Duke Dumont last night. Tickets were like gold dust. I remember a few years ago, before the biggest acts were, the afters tickets of the ball were selling for around 3 times face value.

Seen Arcade Fire before at Edinburgh Castle. Great venue for a great band. Would like to see Arctic Monkeys but any act that has Jake Bugg on the bill means I would F**k off away from that gig. Sounds like George Formby doing an impression of Bob Dylan - which is totally unfair on Formby in my opinion!

I couldn't believe it when my good lady told me, yesterday morning, that she had bought us tickets to see the Monkees in Switzerland tonight.

      Then I saw her face...

I had me a Bad Religion session last night; played two albums back to back when watching the City-Chelsea game - way better than any commentary.

Ended up drinking with Wilkinson & his MC last Wednesday night. Great gig, even it was at a ball. Not the best of setting for him I would imagine. The 2 lads & myself that went thought it was great anyways!

Now onto, the much loved :P, 1975 this week. A good lot of us going, a lot of couples, should be interesting!

Was better than I thought. Actually good I thought. The small bingo hall-esque room probably suited them more than the bigger festival stages. It was sold out too. (this probably highlights the standard of act we get in Galway!)

More than likely going to see Friend Within tomorrow night. House DJ, I think he could be from Liverpool actually?

Ha ha... you've hit the nail on the head there mate - it's all about frames of reference.

I remember a lad (who didn't listen to a lot of music) telling me, after a Coldplay gig, that they were the "best live band in the World": only to find out (when I pushed him) that he'd only ever seen Coldplay and Meatloaf live.

So... better than you thought but still pish; eh?  ;D

Meant to post last week - went to see Boy and Bear at King Tut's in Glasgow.

Wasn't that fussed before - just a good way to catch up with a couple of very old mates - but we wangled couple of tickets last minute (told the very charming barmaid it was on my mate's "bucket list". Yes, I know that was poor) and wished I hadn't bothered.

First gig of European tour to be fair but very mediocre.

Funniest bit of the night was when the singer announced in a high-brow way before the penultimate number that the band had long made a decision that they "...don't do encores..." which met an amusing response from a guy near me "...and I decided years ago never to attend the f#ckin oscars, get on with it...".

For any of the house enthusiasts, MK is playing in Galway at the end of next month. It's gonna be ridiculous. Just praying I can get tickets now, cos the venue is a small nightclub.

Was the track of Ibiza last summer.
