Going to see Noel Gallagher in Los Angeles in a couple of weeks, then Beady Eye 2 weeks later. Should be good, especially Noel.

Pearl Jam. Wow. Just.. Wow. Amazing. Unreal. Astonishing. I think my English isn't good enough to describe how good it was. I had already seen them a few years ago, so I wasn't too excited before the concert, to be honest, as it wasn't something new to me. But how f***in good are they! Easily one of the best concerts I've ever been to.

The combo Jeremy - Black is out of this world.

Nothing wrong with pop music mate.

How many costume changes did she make; as many as Madonna but not as many as Gaga?  ;D

Went to see the Arctic Monkeys last time in the Echo Arena.

3rd time I've seen them live now, and this was definitely the best. The big difference now is their presence on the stage. Alex Turner used to just stand and go from song to song with very little crowd interraction, but now he  seems far more comfortable as a frontman.

Fantastic setlist, F***ing brilliant gig. Absolutely love them. Can't think of many other bands who've put put 4 consecutive top class albums, where each album just seems to outdo the last!

I'm a huge Arctic Monkeys fan as well, saw them live a few years ago. I thought they were great cause their songs were great, but in terms of stage presence and crowd interaction they were very poor - there was almost none. Good to know they're better in that aspect, I'd love to see them again, hopefully next year, there are rumours they're coming to Lollapalooza in São Paulo.

However I don't agree their new albums always outdo the last, in fact my favorite AM album is still the first. I like all 4 of them though.

I find myself changing the order of my favourite to least favourite frequently, as I think they're all excellent albums. Then the other day I realised I listen the 4th album the most, followed by the 3rd, then the 2nd and then the 1st.

Still, it is hard to say one is better than another because their style has evolved so much. They sound a different band now to when they started. I think I appreciate how Turner has matured as a song writer above all.

In this time of recession, a country in good shape like Brazil that has not suffered much with the crisis is understandably being visited by a lot of international bands and artists. It's awesome. New festivals are coming up too, like SWU that had its 2nd edition this month (the one in which Alice in Chains played) and Lolapallooza was recently confirmed for next year. But ticket prices are absurd. How much does a concert ticket cost in the UK / US / Ireland / wherever you people come from?

I heard Lolapalloza tickets will cost R$ 300 (around £105). Foo Fighters, Arctic Monkeys and Jane's Addiction are confirmed. I really want to go, but when you add traveling expenses to the sum (the Festival is gonna be in São Paulo), it becomes very expensive fun!

Not to mention VIP tickets which are ridiculous. Paul McCartney's VIP cost R$ 700 (around £244).

If you have a student card (school or university) you pay half the price though (which is my case, cause I'm doing a MBA, but it won't be for too much longer).

For a 3 day festival such as 'Download' or 'Reading & Leeds' you're looking at around £170 - £190 generally.

Individual gigs / concerts vary greatly. If I wanted to see, say, Cancer Bats, I would get a ticket for around £15. If I wanted to see Pearl Jam, it would be perhaps £40-45. More mainstream bands would of course be more.

      Epic!

I actually meant Black / Alive combo, which was absolutely wonderful - not as one song though, but the crowd went nuts with those 2 classics in a row. As you can see by the setlist, which was an epic gig. The 2nd encore was simply perfect.

No mate, they're expensive here too (as are most things).

I haven't been to a major festival since 2006 because of the expence.

Of course if you're into less mainstream stuff, you can find some real bargains. This is a one day festival I went to in April in Nottingham. I'm sure there's plenty of bands that you won't have heard of but check out this list for £15 :

Monster Energy Stage (Rock City Main Stage)

      Underoath

      The Blackout

      We Are The Ocean

      Deaf Havana

      Exit Ten

      Hyro Da Hero

      Summerlin

      Tomorrow Brings Giants

      We Are Fiction

Big Deal Clothing Stage (Rock City Basement)

      Young Guns

      My Passion

      The Swellers

      LightGoBlue

      Save Your Breath

      Atlas & I

      Rio

      Kiss Corona

      Evarose

      Atticus Stage (Rescue Rooms)

      Cancer Bats

      Comeback Kid

      The Ghost Inside

      Kvelertak

      Gravemaker

      Social Suicide

      Feed The Rhino

      Hospitals

      Galleons

      The Brave Clothing Stage (stealth)

      Sylosis

      Devil Sold His Soul

      Bleed from Within

      While She Sleeps

      Hawk Eyes

      Blitz Kids

      Turbowolf

      James Cleaver Quintet

      Cars On Fire

      Against The Flood

I'm very jealous but must admit, I'd be a little disappointed that 'Release' wasn't on that list.
