At least that time he took out 2 Mancs whilst losing the ball.

Thought he was close to MOM, seems to show up for big games.

Thought he was excellent yesterday and you could hear that tackle he put in from the back of the Kop!

had a great game and showed why he's englands no 1 RB, what a massive loss if he's out for a long time, international break coudnt have come at a better time with our injuries as it gives players time to get fit again.

It's not often I'll say this but I thought Johnson was boss defensively against United. Looked really up for the game.

A high ankle sprain, not too sure how long he's out for though.

Can be a pretty bad injury that, international break at the right time for us really.

Question is do we try to speed Kelly up or stick with Wisdom for now? (assuming Glen is out longer, I suspect he will be though)

Kelly is not coming close to the first team anytime soon lad. Atleast not in my estimations.

After Wisdom's excellent cameo against United I'd expect him to be taking that position.

Hope Johnson comes back quickly. Least the injury has came at a decent time with the international break, he won't miss too many games.

Great game against United. I've never hidden the fact I'm a big fan of this guy. Hope his injury isn't so serious.

Looking for a time span on that it suggests anywhere between 8 and 24 weeks depending on severity.

      Hope it's not that serious

It was right in front of me mate and it was as hard a tackle as you will see all season, the only thing that got me on my feet quicker all game was the goal, it was not the sort of tackle you would expect from Jonno! He had a cracking game defensively, one of his best.

He had a great game against Utd, really hope that it is not serious and he makes a full recovery quickley, we need him back in the team, Wisdom looked a good back up and will do just fine i think but he is still no Johnson at RB

I could be wrong,  but can't Cissokho play on the right or left?

Don't really know but he is out for up to 6 weeks with the injury sustained against Notts County. As for Wisdom, maybe the injury impacted whether he went on loan somewhere.

I'm a fan of Johnson but 2013 was not his best year was it? 2012 he was very good, but 2013 very hit & miss.

A hit on Sunday tho, so hopefully he can come back into that form again.

This is just a hunch but maybe one of our geeky members could check the facts/stats for me.  Johnno's had a few injuries in his time with us, not serious ones but they usually keep him out for a few games.

Do they happen before or after a run of good or bad games?

My thinking is if he has a run of bad games is it because he's carrying a niggling injury we don't know about then when he's having a run of good games he's injury free?

Certainly does seem to get niggly injuries, mainly ankles and knees after doing a little research, not sure about form though.  Last season was the first time he'd ever played more than 30 league games in a single season!  He also managed to play the most games he'd ever manage to play in a single season, 54, beating his previous best by 11, or in other words 25% more games than he'd ever managed.

Reports he's out for 10 weeks. Huge blow IMHO. Key player in Brendan's system and the way we play. Add to this Kelly's lack of fitness, we'll have to play Wisdom out of his position exactly like last season I think.

Hearing he may be out for 10 weeks with knee ligament damage, even though it was his ankle that was the initial problem. Thankfully we have good cover with Wisdom and Kelly, but still a bad blow. He certainly deserved better luck after what I thought was an outstanding game DEFENSIVELY against the mancs.
