Just watched Kes, a 1969 film directed by Ken Loach. Heart-breaking and beautiful.

Loach is one of my favorite directors ever.

Brilliant film, and a very good book as well.

Just watched Captain Phillips and really enjoyed it although you can't go wrong with Paul Greengrass and Tom Hanks.

Bourne Legacy the other night as well but it was pretty forgettable. Good cast spoiled by a pointless story that just seems to be to try and keep the franchise alive.

It really is beyond me how that movie didn't get nominated for the Oscars. Miles better than Her tbfh.

Haven't seen Captain Phillips but I intend to.
Thought the same about the Bourne Legacy, wafer thin theme wise.

      Captain Phillips was brilliant.
Rare to see a properly constructed movie plot nowadays.
      Careful build up.
      Good character development.
      Climatic finish.

Best film Hanks has been in for a long time.

Talking about re-watchig, recently did that with Oldboy, A Man from Earth and Sleuth (the 2007 one) - top notch acting. Definitely in my 'all time greats' list.

I actually rewatched the movie Fargo yesterday, because of the new Fargo tv series that's starting in 2 weeks. Great movie still, love it. TV series looks great too, hope it even half lives up the quality of the movie.

Watched Bad Words: Funny in places but not as good as I had been told.

The Legend: Hercules: Go in to this with very low expectations and you wont be disappointed :D Weak film.

300: Rise of an Empire: I quite liked the first one, the 2nd is bloody terrible in comparison in my opinion.

Snowpiercer: Certainly different, can't say I enjoyed it but I liked the attempt at a new storyline in this genre, felt it could have been so much better though.

Maybe I've just been in a bad mood recently but I honestly wouldn't recommend any of these films to watch at the cinema, wait for the DvD and make sure you have a distraction around to make them bearable.

Me neither. I guess you have to watch it to understand just how bad it is.
If it wasn't so loung (around 2 hours and a half long), I would tell everyone to watch it just for fun ;D

:D, It started out alright then 5 mins in I was like what is going on? :) the Aussie & Cockney accent was a turn off too, if it was dubbed in Hebrew,Aramaic or Arabic it would have been more interesting.

Ray Winston, jeez I thought he could not get worse than Beowolf, should stick to bet 365 adverts.

      Poor from Aronofsky.

Every time I see the talk of that film I keep thinking that someone was actually silly enough to look at Troy McClure's adaptation of Noah's Ark in The Simpsons and believing it would be a good idea.

If you've read any of Irvine Welsh's books which are completely off the wall, I've seen a recent movie based on one of his stories.

Filth - With quite a big British cast staring James McAvoy.

Definitely worth a watch if you like that kind of stuff, never quite pulled of the Clockwork Orange factor but one that kept me watching.
