Was going to watch it tonight but after reading one or two lines from his autobiography I'm gonna give it a swerve & watch Dark of the Moon instead.

Eddie Ray Routh was a better shot.

I'd heard and read about some of the things he said in his book, but there's very little of that in the film Shabs.

The film is more an adapted screenplay from what I gather, a lot of it is made up for Hollywood but there are some core elements that are true and based on his book.

Bit of a bullshitter too, his wife had to fight hard to remove from the script his defamation case against Ventura which Ventura went in to win.

Guess that's why it appeals to some, all that fiction.

I was thinking more along the lines of the language he used in his book, about enjoying killing and the various racial slurs he used.

So did I mate, it just made me ill for about a month.

Predestination is one you might like. Bit slow but worth watching for the ending which is a little obvious but so well done it hardly matters.

Ah yes..Jacobs Ladder :o I made the fatal mistake of taking a girl out on a first date to watch that. Had to walk out after about half an hour :f_whistle:

I watched Predestination last weekend. Talk about a head-fu*k! I know some directors like you leave the theater 'thinking' about the film but, WTF? How are you to make any sense of that one?

Predestination was great. Another movie I watched recently with a similar plot and head F**k is Time Lapse.

Predestination was pretty good I thought, though a bit predictable. The only headfuck in that movie for me is, where/when/how did it start, if that makes sense. Without giving away too much I hope, a loop also has to start sometime. It seems not possible in this case.

We went and watched The Drop last night. Wasn't bad but wasn't all that brilliant either. I dunno really, thought it was a bit slow and atmospheric and I suppose in a way I was expecting a bit more violence - given the cast. Speaking of which, the three leads as you'd expect were all brilliant. Tom Hardy just gets better and better.

Pretty much that and Guardians of the Galaxy is all I've watched this year.
Oh and Star Wars 4, 5 & 6. Bought them for Christmas.

Anyone seen Taken 3 yet? Was going to watch it this weekend but didn't get round to it. Being the third instalment, I have my doubts about it, considering how average the second one was.

Better or worse than  the first? I thought the first one was pretty funny.

I want to see John Wick, wondering if it's any good?

I didn't think 22 jump street was anywhere near as funny as the first. Was just a less funny rehash.

I really enjoyed John Wick it has great style and fantastic choreography. But don't expect too much in the way of story.

I'd say about the same FL.

They make a few jokes about it being a sequel with them doing the exact same things etc and if you enjoyed the first I'm sure you'll find this alright.

Nothing groundbreaking but an enjoyable hour and half or so.

Not a big fan. Apart from the songs in the movie, which I loved, I was expecting to have more fun watching it. But I'm pretty much alone on this, most people seem to love it.

I don't think it deserved the hype it got, but I still enjoyed it and it had some genuine laugh out loud moments.

You're not alone, mate. I thought it was decent enough but felt slightly underwhelmed after reading / hearing all the hype.

      I blame racer.

Watched Big Hero 6 the other day. The first two thirds are brilliant, charming and character driven. Simply watching Baymax navigate the environment is amusing enough.
The final third, Michael Bay does Disney.
Still recommend giving it a go though, my kids enjoyed it as well.
