      Avengers Star Wars.

      Loved Rocket and Groot.

Yep. Those two made it although there were many other great aspects to this film.

My missus cried buckets near the end.

I knew from the first scene I was going to love it even though I don't think it was a particularly strong one. Soundtrack got me hooked.

John wick was fun yeah, haven't seen the Equalizer.. only the Edward Woodward ones.

Entirely different from the Woodward series, well good movie. Got John Wick haven't seen it yet but the preview looks good.

Saw American Sniper recently and was surprised how much I enjoyed another what I thought was a US run of the mill American kick ass war movie, was as equally surprised to learn it was a true story.

The main character Chris Kyle a US Navy Seal was murdered after 4 tours of duty fighting Islamic terrorism, he returned to the US badly traumatised and resolved to help servicemen affected in the same way by the madness of war.
Well worth watching even if a glimpse of the shock ending to the movie is on the national news today:

Routh guilty in American Sniper case
A Texas jury has found Eddie Routh guilty of the murder of US Navy Seal Chris Kyle who wrote American Sniper and his friend Chad Littlefield, Routh was sentenced to life without parole; the prosecution had sought the death penalty.
In his defence it was said he was psychotic at the time of the shootings two years ago but prosecutors said Routh was fully aware of what he was doing when he gunned the pair down at a Texas gun range in 2013.

'It Follows' will have a limited released in the UK tomorrow. Has some great reviews for a horror - 100% on RT, 85/100 on Metacritic.

      Should be worth a watch.

Can see why J.K. Simmons swept all awards for his role in Whiplash. Incredibly well made film about a music teacher and his student - which is way more exciting than it sounds. Found the original short film, directed by the same guy and still starring Simmons on YouTube. Worth a watch whether you've seen the full length movie or not.

Great film, although for most parts I was just listening to Scarlett Johansson.

      Good Vibrations.

      Fantastic film.
      Fact.

I went to the 'gala premier' of that, in the Strand, a couple of Good Fridays ago mate. Brought back some great memories; got it on DVD and watched it on BBC 2 the other night... Brilliant.

But... I came on here to praise a film [I watched yesterday] which left me feeling as good as I've ever felt, after watching a film... 'Marvellous'...

What a show. I defy anyone not to enjoy it. I won't go into any detail - but seriously just make a point of seeing it. I promise you won't be disappointed.  8)

      Nightcrawler.

Just finished this and I had been wanting to see it for a while but it was even better then I was expecting.

A stylish, dark and darkly funny at times, thriller that sucks you in from the very beginning.

Much of this is down to Jake Gyllenhall and how well he portrays the main character Lou Bloom. He clearly has thought about this role and I think it is the role of his career so far.

Great acting. Great cinematography and a fantastic score that bubbles under the surface of this movie but stays with you and fits so well with the film.

      Well worth a watch.

Chilling is how I'd describe his character.
I watched it again this week, and I enjoyed it even more.

Top notch. My favourite movie along with Whiplash so far this year. Too dark and cynical to get the awards attention it deserved. But it portrays a realistic and stark representation of how we are fed news by the media today.

      Exactly the same as me.

Nightcrawler ans Whiplash are two of the best I've seen recently, long with the glorious Big Hero 6 of course, and Gyllenhall is the best performance I've seen in a while.

Just watched The Theory Of Everything and really enjoyed it.

Nothing really ground breaking but an interesting story that was well told with a decent score and some very good cinematography.

The main reason to watch though is for the acting and while Felicity Jones is very good as Jane Eddie Redmayne was fantastic as Professor Hawking and seems worth the Oscar. I went into the film kind of hoping to pick holes in his performance, not even sure why, but he was truly brilliant.

      Worth a watch.
