Watched yesterday a movie starring Jake Gyllenhall called Enemy ... f**king mental this movie, a must-see psychological thriller ... Christopher Nolan type of movie. Figured it out in the end, it really gets your gears working.

Watched a film I had been meaning to see for a long time but finally got round to last night - Lawrence of Arabia. Truly epic and awesome and well worth the 3hrs 45 minutes. There's a scale of ambition there where most directors these days would opt for CGI instead of what Lean and his cinematographer did on this film.

Whether it's the great sunrise shot in the desert, the famous entrance from Omar Sharif or the awesome hilltop panoramic view of the invasion of Aqaba the imagery is just unforgettable. Totally deserving of it's masterpiece

That clip at the start was filmed in my hometown Diego. A little place in County Down called Castlewellan.

That's actually the bank where I my first kids bank account. ;D

F**k me didn't realise you were from Castlewellan, only a few miles from where I grew up in the sticks near Newry. Small world.

Anyway, just watched Kingsmen: The Secret Service which was amazing but I'm a big fan of Matthew Vaughn the director.

Small world indeed Mags. I always thought you were from further south closer to Dublin for some reason.

Just back from Ant Man and really enjoyed it and while it is another Marvel film I thought it felt a little different with some really funny moments and some great action scenes towards the end.

Never really fussed on Paul Rudd but he was perfect for the lead in this.

Nah you're right mate I've lived in Banbridge for over 5 years now after 3 in Dromore. Castlewellan born and bred but married a Lisburn girl and moved about since then.

Watched Baraka the other day, a 1992 non narrative documentary, it's just the power of video and music, touches some sensitive stuff about nature, humanity, draws some spot on parallels about the world we live in and the people that we are.

Yesterday I watched Child 44 and Hot pursuit. I was looking forward to Child 44 since I've read the book, but I was a bit disappointing, cause they cut off some very important parts from the book, Tom Hardy was boss tho, I think he portrayed Leo pretty well. As for the second one, was ok had a few haha moments.

Haven't read the book but my missus has and she said it was really good.  Has there ever been a film that has surpassed a good book?

Catch 22 came close, and maybe Sleepers as well, but other than that I can't really think of any, and it's debatable if even in those 2 films they managed to match the books, let alone surpass them.

I actually underplayed how much I enjoyed Ant Man in this post. Really enjoyable film and one of my favourite Marvel movies and dare I say it enjoyed it more than Avengers although a little less then Guardians of The Galaxy.

Watched Infernal Affair, the film that Scorsese ripped off , nearly note for note remade as The Departed.  Absolute stonking film and well worth watching, though watch the subtitled version, rather than the dubbed, if you can.

I absolutely loved it. Far better than the Hollywood remake and ranks up there with Seven for me!

Not my favourite Nolan but a stunning film none the less.

Hans Summer score is haunting at times.

I really enjoyed it, thought it was a brilliant story.

The score was epic though, probably one of, if not, Zimmer's best work.

It has its merits, the score and some novel ideas for a sci fi drama incorporating scientific ideas both factual and theoretical.

But I found the storyline a bit contrived with the whole love transcending time and space, the visuals were rather bland and uninspired and the over acting, particularly from Damon and Chastain, was annoying.

I think it's Nolans worst movie after The Dark Knight Rises but an admirable failure and still better than 70% of the trash that Hollywood churns out these days.

I just had huge expectations for it as I really like Nolan's work. Memento is in my top 20 favourite movies.

      Child 44 worth a watch.

Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman and myriad of other British actors in this Russian movie.  ;D
