Certainly not the best film I've seen recently but I've just watched American Psycho.
If anyone has read the novel, please tell me it's no more horrific than the film? That is one disturbing film!!!
But I still ended up watching until the end?? B**ger! Need to see more comedies!

I'm a  huge Brett Easton Ellis fan...the author of american Psycho....the book is far far far more disturbing when you first  read it...but after 3 or 4 reads you get the comedy of it....really recommend the book...great summer read....the rest of his books are also great.

I think the main reason I kept watching last night was because of the hidden comedy value, which some people probably wouldn't really get? Good, yet VERY disturbing film.
Are all Brett Easton Ellis' novels so disturbing though Lester?

Yes! But not as blantantly...its more unsettling or hopeless. Thats sounds a little depressing but he is one of those writers who is excellent at visualising the text.....you are absorbed into the seedy worlds that his characters inhabit.

I watched Die Hard 4 the other day and can highly recommend it, a decent and believable plot and some brilliant special effects also Bruce seems to be wearing very well indeed, in fact I just had to break out my vest and shout “yippee ki yay fother mucker!” ;D

ok ok ...Transformers is......visually fantastic! A typical Bay adventure but the story is a little weak...worth going to see but just enjoy stunts and effects and don't try and follow the plot....

      Just saw Die Hard 4

It has awesome action and special effects but of course not too much in the way of story as with most movies in the action genre these days. It was pretty funny too

I watched a good film lastnight it was called A Cry In The Dark based on a true story from Australia.

Meryl Streep and Sam Neill star in this documentary style film adaptation of the true story of Lindy and Michael Chamberlain, an Australian couple who lived the nightmare of losing their infant daughter during a family camping trip. When Lindy (Streep) spies a dingo nearby, authorities launch a frantic search, but all they find is a torn, bloodied garment. The press, distressed by the mother's seeming lack of emotion, and suspicious of her strict Seventh Day Adventist religious beliefs, begin to accuse her of murdering the baby. The sentiment against her begins to grow, and soon the whole continent is talking about the case in a malicious witch hunt. Despite the lack of evidence, Lindy Chamberlain is imprisoned; although investigators eventually reexamine her story, the damage is done: the innocent mother's relationship with her husband has been irreparably destroyed and she has spent over three years in prison for a crime she did not commit. This painful portrayal of the power of public opinion and political and emotional persecution is captured with steely intensity by Streep, she is captivating as the much-maligned victim of social injustice who is bolstered by her strong religious faith and stoic demeanour.

      "The Dingo's  got my baby!"

Nice synopsis davet! The old sensitive side coming out....reckon you should give us a review of 'Sophie's Choice' and 'Beaches' next!

Joking aside....really like your summing up...maybe that should be a running feature in that you have to give a slightly more detailed summary of the last film you saw rather than it was great or it was sh*te?

Actually dave if you  liked that movie you'd also like 'Not without my daughter'. Its a sally field and alfred molina movie set in the oppresive islamic state of Iran....really good.
