      Reserves start at Blackburn
Liverpool Reserves will kick-off their 2009-10 Barclays Premier Reserve League North season with a trip to Blackburn Rovers on Thursday, August 27.

John McMahon's side will play their home fixtures at Tranmere Rovers' Prenton Park this campaign, and the Reds play host to Bolton Wanderers on Wednesday, September 2.

Manchester United travel to the Wirral on Thursday, September 17, before the two teams meet at Altrincham FC in January.

The first mini-derby of the season against Everton is scheduled for Tuesday, November 3 at the Stobart Stadium in Widnes, with the return clash due to take place on Tuesday, March 9.

Liverpool will wrap-up their campaign at home to Wigan Athletic on Tuesday, April 6.

Let's hope a few of the younger lads such as Nemeth, Darby, Spearing, Pacheco and Kelly can properly establish themselves in the first-team this season too.

Agreed. Watch Ayala, San Jose, Christopher Bookman, Amoo & Dalla Valle too.
Is David Martin (GK) staying or is he being farmed out on loan again? I think he's a great keeper.

Martin is more than likely going to be loan out again which is also going to happen to Dean Bouzanis who is being linked to a move to Wrexham.

He's already gone on loan to Wrexham, or so it says in the echo today.

Let's hope the lads can do a bit better next season, it's so important to get off to a good start, and that goes for the first team as well as the ressies, I'll be following them closely as usual, and it's nice to see our first four fixtures are so easy, especially the one on the 17th September  ;)

MCMAHON OFF TO A GOOD START Aberystwyth 1-4 Liverpool XI
      http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drilldown/N165092090718-1709.htm
Goals from Vincent Weijl, Gerardo Bruna, Nathan Eccleston and Ryan Crowther saw a John McMahon managed Liverpool XI beat Aberystwyth Town 4-1 in a friendly encounter on Saturday.
The game, which saw McMahon take charge of the team for the first time since replacing Gary Ablett, was played as part the Welsh club's 125th Anniversary season.

Five of last season's Academy based FA Youth Cup final team were included in McMahon's starting line-up with Lauri Dalle Valle, David Amoo, Eccleston, Christopher Buchtmann and Andre Wisdom all in action.

Finnish ace Dalle Valle picked up a knock and had to leave the field after 35 minutes.

The Welsh side took the lead from a corner when Liverpool fan Sion James headed home.

Dutch winger Weijl equalised with a superb individual goal when he beat two defenders and produced a venomous finish.

Superb play from Eccleston then led to Gerard Bruna making it 2-1 and Eccleston added a third goal just before the interval.

A whole host of substitutions were made in the second half and Ryan Crowther made it 4-1.

McMahon was pleased with the way his side played and told Liverpoolfc.tv: "We started off sloppy but once we got going we played some good stuff.

"We had a very young side out and the lads will be better for this match. We played a few of them in different positions and they did well."

With regards to Dalle Valle's knock, McMahon added: "It's nothing serious, it was a slight ankle twist and he will be okay."

Liverpool XI: Dean Bouzanis (Chris Oldfield 45), Emmanuel Mendy, Christopher Buchtmann (Steven Irwin 45), Robbie Threlfall, Andre Wisdom, Victor Palsson (captain) (Vitor Flora 45), David Amoo (Ryan Crowther 45), Gerard Bruna, Lauri Dalle Valle (Andras Simon 35), Nathan Eccleston (Jordy Brouwer 45), Vincent Weijl.

      Well done lads.

Cheers for Merging, Must of missed the First Thread. :dunce2:

Can't wait for tonights match, I'm heading down there.  I wonder if Stevie will be in the line up?  But if not, it should be a good game seeing some of our younger players getting a good run out, and smashing those tw*ts tonight.

      Come onnn.

Liverpool XI my friend.  It'll be most of the youngsters playing.  Although Gerrard might be told to go down to play tonight.

I'm not quite sure if there is a stream for it TBH.

Right I'm off for a bit of a gander and then I'll be heading down to Prenton Park.

No streams on MyP2P, But hey, if Stevie is there then I guess the Media will send a van down there. So just have to watch the news later.

Have a good time Court, hope Stevie makes an appearance even if he doesn't play, his presence will be a huge boost for the young lads.

I'm going to see the young lads at Notts County next week.

There were reports yesterday on the radio here saying that Stevie will be playing some part. It makes sense too seeing as he hasn't had a match since last Sunday.

Doubt there'll be any streams for this though.
