He has a squad where the vast majority of them are the complete opposite to how he wants his teams to play. City are a strange team, they have no real identity about them; they aren't a possession based team, they aren't a pressing team and more often than not just look to De Bruyne and Aguero. They don't have ball playing defenders and under Pep, IMO Kolorov is the only one going to excel IMO, the rest are far too clumsy and Kompany is made of glass. Their wings are a weak spot too. Solid through the middle with the likes of Silva and KDB but in general he has a lot of work to do, they showed just how bad they are in certain areas plenty of times last season.

But like the Mancs, they think they will suddenly be a force now because of who their manager is.

I agree. Not saying it's going to work but that it will be interesting.

Seeing a lot of talk that KDB, Gundogan and Silva will be his midfield three?

Not sure how he has set up in the past but most PL teams would run right through that once they eventually get the ball back

Completely unbalanced that is. For a start Silva and KDB both want to play the same position.

Guardiola is banning City players from eating pizza. That deserves relegation if not a sacking on the spot.

2 underwhelming signings once again for City, it's just another Sterling and Navas IMO.

Everton must be p*ssing themselves! He's a £20m player tops. Ok he may have potential but so many other youngsters, he's only 22. Just because you're young doesn't mean you're automatically going to get better, you could get a lot worse.

I think the 50 million price tag is merely coz he's English. His stats for last year don't match the figure. However, the market continues to boom for the top players. I do like him though considering he's still improving. Only draw back?? Sterling there and look what's happened to him?? Nothing  :-\ Maybe under Pep might be different

£50mill on Sterling, 50 on Stones, near on 40 for Sane, near on 30 for Gabriel Jesus. That's a lot of money on unproven players and so far, one of them has spectacularly failed.

They've spent 42 on Mangala, 30 on Otamendi and what with Stones, that will be a lot of money on the bench whilst one of them plays alongside Kompany.

      I think he's a dreadful defender.

I rated him better than Barkley couple seasons ago. He definitely has more potential to him in my eyes than Barkley right now, especially with a coach who can set up a team to be organised and not the sh*t-show that was Roberto Martinez who lost Moyes' defensive structure after one season.

Aguero is a class player but don't think he will ever reach the levels of Messi, Suarez and Ronaldo. I've said it before and once again he proved it today, he misses far too many chances he should be scoring, chance after chance goes begging week in week out for him.

Stones largely at fault for the goal too, money well spent.

Agreed. In fairness to the guy, I thought he had the potential to kick on and achieve that level of greatness but the injuries have chipped away at him and prevented it. I recall Barca and Real were both looking at him at times but then he'd get injured.

Confirmed Hart will leave the club this summer. Apparently he has played 347 games for them and conceded 347 goals, so goal a game.

I'm not surprised they're getting rid of Hart for talent reasons -- good enough keeper, but massively overrated and can be improved upon -- but it's a shock considering the only other English players they have are the holy trinity of Sterling, Stones and Delph.
