      Reds to deal in Ayala

Liverpool are ready to reward young defender Daniel Sanchez Ayala with a new deal, skysports.com understands.

Sanchez Ayala joined Liverpool at the start of 2007/08 campaign after being snapped up from Sevilla.

The 18-year-old is highly rated by the Liverpool coaching staff and has established himself as a regular in the reserves in the last couple of seasons.

Sanchez Ayala has yet to make his first-team debut, but he has featured in Liverpool's first two pre-season friendlies this summer

Reds boss Rafa Benitez is a big admirer of the central defender and is keen to tie him to a new long-term contract.

Well got a surprise sub appearance today and hardly put a foot wrong for all 10 minutes he did play for Skrtel. It would of been a proud day for him personally to play your first game as a Liverpool player

Thought he looked solid. What he had to do he did with minimal fuss. Shame he came on in the circumstances that he did, but well done to the lad.

Must have knuckled down and worked hard and has been rewarded for his hard work and sheer determination.. Hopefully he'll turn out to be a little Gem!

Only 18 and makes his debut in the season opener. Great moment for him, well done Daniel.

      Here's to the next one.

Didn't look out of place at all yesterday, a solid debut and hopefully he'll kick on and improve over the next few years. Definately one to watch.

Didn't see enough of him to judge fairly, but he didn't make any howlers.

Solid start, I wonder how much we'll see of him if our CB's keep kicking the sh*t out of each other? ::)

It was a pity that he had to come on as sub when we were getting beat.He looks like he has got the makings so lets hope next time he comes on it is under different circumstances and he is not under pressure from the minute he gets on.

Looked more comfortable with Defoe than both Carra and Skrtel did.

      I though he did ok.

Did well to remind me of why we got rid of Crouch.

Especially when Peter climbed on top of him and easily got a header on goal.

Crouch was poor end of, touched the ball two times.

To be fair to Daniel that should have been a foul on him.

But thats what we cried about with Crouchy when he was here, he kept getting fouled because of his height. Ayala was dominated in that.

Not slagging him, just saying - he was outdone in the air.

Danny did well yesterday, fair enough didn't have much time but during his cameo appearance didn't do too much wrong. One for the future, we hope.

But he didn't have anything to do yesterday? The only thing I can remember him doing was giving away the foul on Defoe. The last 15 mins were practically us trying to get a second goal.
