Thought it was a really good race. Some great battles especially from Fernando Alonso who was magnificent to watch today. Some beautiful racing from him today especially his defensive driving against Vettel.

Delighted for Lewis especially as it is at home. Deserved that bit of luck and got it. He was faultless. Nonetheless it would have been fascinating to see what he could do to Rosberg had his team mate continued racing on. I think he had the pace to beat him.

Robbed of a battle for the win, but the other battles were fantastic.
If people didn't like that race then I suggest you follow a different sport.

      They were indeed!

Oh and one thing - the trophies were an utter embarrassment. Really sad that even the winners trophies are plastic commercialised claptrap. As Lewis said - what happened to that beautiful gold trophy? Seen him presented with it amongst the team but that counts for nothing.

He had it by the time the post race interviews were done,
but the sponsor one was cheap and tacky.

I think that was after I'd made the post, but that was a good battle.

It's interesting listening to the radio comments. He did that, he did this, he's cheating, Daddy please go and tell on him, Wah!!!!!!!

Bring back James Hunt, he'd just smack them after the race, and that would be that.

Hopefully Sky can give us a driver mute button for next season.
F***ing hell I've never heard so much complaining.

Drivers trying to influence decisions on other drivers because of
exceeding track limits. They were both at it, exceeding limits and complaining.

Shut the F**k up and drive.Or alternatively punch him in the face when you finish.

Great race - fully expect Hamilton to walk the Championship. i wonder how he's managing to preserve his petrol and tyres so well?

FIFA are blocking/complaining/both Nico from using this design, because it features the World Cup Trophy.

      Just found this:

‘Any unauthorised use of the official marks not only undermines the integrity of the FIFA world cup and its marketing programme,’ said FIFA, ‘but also puts the interests of the worldwide football community at stake.’

      :lmao:

That last comment really did make me laugh! Absolute jokers.

Just watched a Rosberg interview this morning; the person working for Sky asked about the possibility of a home advantage as Lewis said it helped him a lot when he won at Silverstone. Rosberg's response was: "he won because my gear box broke".

Sorry son but you was being caught rapidly. Lewis was the much faster driver in the handful of laps before his gearbox went and would have inevitably caught him. This rivalry between the two of them is actually reaching childish levels.

What a Grand Prix. I'm exhausted just watching it! Incredible drives from Lewis and Alonso managing old tyres at the end there. Well done to Riccardio on the win. Mercedes, however, have A LOT to answer to for telling Lewis to allow Nico past when his team mate wasn't even that close. Incredibly rich when you consider that Lewis is racing Nico for the championship. It's a good job Hamilton didn't because otherwise he would have found himself even further behind in the championship.

I don't blame Rosberg for that but I blame the Mercedes pit wall for suggesting to Hamilton that he pull over. Disgraceful "management" from Mercedes and I think Lewis has every reason to feel shocked by that call. They told Lewis that his tyres would hold up comfortably until the end so fighting off Rosberg later on in the race, who would be pitting earlier, would not be a problem so came the call to 'let him through'. Hamilton believed they wouldn't and as those last few laps showed, Hamilton was right and his team well and truly wrong - a false promise from the Merc "egg heads". That will just fuel conspiracy theories that Mercedes are favouring Rosberg. Hamilton should be thrilled with his result yet is toying with beliefs that his efforts were trying to be undone by his own team. Mercedes have A LOT of explaining to do.

With regards to Rosberg the dilemma was simple. He failed to get past Jean Eric Vergne's Toro Rosso earlier on in the race and as such found himself behind the race leaders. Before he starts blaming Hamilton, he should begin consulting that matter.

Just throw this theory in: Vettel's poor form this season, relative to Ricciardo's, is down to the fact that he is a father now and has lost that risk factor in his driving.

Cracking race today, can't stand Hamilton, but fair play to him today.

Disappointed he did not win today. I would not be shocked if he moved next season, German team, engine, arguably number one racer... he must feel like the knives are out after that "let Rosberg pass" instruction.

      Fantastic Grand Prix.
      Great drive by Lewis.

Feel sorry for the lads that were in the top 4, particulary Bottas, when the Safety Car came out.
      Changed the race completely.

      Ricciardo is BOSS.

I'm glad Hamilton ignored the call to move aside for Rosberg. It's not as though Rosberg was up Hamilton's back end, the gap was that much that it could have cost Hamilton between 1-2 seconds to slow down and move over. Thought it was a shocking call to put another set of intermediates on both McLaren's too. Usually in those situations teams split the strategies but even fitting a second set of intermediates to one McLaren alone wasn't a good idea considering the way the track was developing.

Big congratulations to Ricciardo too, he looks to be filling the shoes of Mark Webber very well. I love his aggressive but responsible driving style. He seems such a genuine individual too.

Juan Pablo Montoya sets the fastest lap ever recorded in f1 history 10 years ago at this weekends venue of Monza!

I loved the cars from that eya. Aggression and speed with no real care to a green agenda and absent of ridiculous things like DRS and ERS. Ok while the more stringent technical rules have bought out some interesting innovations, there is still a lingering sense of disappointment of never seeing an f1 car race with a V10 engine again, never reach the ultimate pinnacle of speed and science like those in earlier eras believed it would. If it can't do that these days then it just isn't true to the spirit of f1.
