Not good, we were done over a treat and never looked up for it and we were lucky not to lose by a couple more.

Lucas stood out, as did Yossi but other than that the team as a whole were not good enough. Even Stevie, regardless of the fact he came the closest for us.

I hope Rafa plays the first squad next game (with Alonso alongside Masch) so we know where we are. This display is rather inaccurate of what we should and could be doing.

If you had never seen us play before you would have told Rafa that he needs to improve every area of the squad except the keeper.

To be fair it is pre season and I seem to remember a couple of years ago losing 5-1 to some German team if my memory serves me. Pre-season results mean little, just as long as the players know that was a one off and don't lose any sleep over it. Our defence was sh*te, midfield was little better and up front we had no service.

Looking back on those predictions I think we were all a little off huh.

Maybe the first half squad plus Agger and Skrtel and we could have been acting more like a squad.

We didn't keep enough of the ball in that game. They controlled throughout and we can't let that happen in the premiership.

That defending was sh*te, we are well and truly fu**ed if Skrtel or Dagger aren't back for the Spurs game, we've got nobody to decent to cover them, and Carra can't do it all by himself.

On the plus side, Lucas played well tonight, Stevie should have scored twice, and Johnson made a couple of good runs into the area, but all round, not good enough, we need to get our act together in the next week.

So I was gonna tune into lfc.tv to see the match, although after a quick butchers over the match thread, doesn't look like there's much point in doing so. The general gist was we were dreadful. Very few bright points.

Although no doubt it'll be usual excuses "it's only pre-season"

I agree, i didn't like the look of anyone apart from Yossi and Lucas, and i don't really like Lucas either. Torres looked like he'd just got out of bed, and San Jose? tut tut.....

I know it is only pre-season, and i really can't see us playing that badly in the league. But, with the season so close, that kind of performance worries me that we are not going to be up for the match against Spurs. Forget dropping points, we will be losing alot more if we keep up that.. well i don't even know what to call that! Considering it is a very similar squad to last season, no major changes (yet) there is no excuse for it.

What a load of donkey poo.  Don't think anybody turned up tonight.  Very poor indeed.  Defence was woeful and created very little going forward.  Second half just goes to show how very little quality back up players we have.  Degen sh*te, San Jose just out of his depth.  Dossena, Voronin, N'Gog all look lost...terrible game of football.
